Oh, man, in the second game, I once had a bug that originated from South America kill off (in that order) Greenland, Europe, South Pacific, Middle East, Russia, and Asia. However, South America managed to get immunity, and Africa built immunity first of all! Canada also survived because mine died out and couldn't reach them for some reason. In the end, the last 19% of humanity is ruled by the Hegemony of the South.

I've found, in the first game, removing "Human Only" on the starting turn speeds things up somewhat, then paring back to coughing and sneezing as described above.

Usually can get humanity exterminated within 95 days from starting with a score in the 6k-6500 range..

The first one's ridiculously easy - remove human only, pare down to sneezing and coughing then up infectiousness through the roof - but the second's impossible. I lost on the twelfth day, having infected no people.

I think all actions in that second game are basically randomized.

Nonsense, I destroyed 100% of humanity on my second try. You need to lower lethality, increase infectivity, and then try to 100% infect your base country (once you have about 30%, go for the water tower and airports too). Then, continue doing that, keeping cures down to 3 levels when they reach 4. Use 100% infected coutnries to easily infect airports and spread quickly until you reach all people. Continue infecting and cure-fighting, increasing lethality when possible, and you win.

They're both a little too random & easy, (although the second far more so...)

Still, fun killing the human race.

Heh, that was fun. I managed to infect every region on the planet totally with the virus, after turning off all symptoms and got total transmission rate. Then once everyone in the world was infected, I turned on all the symptoms at once, hit go, and wasted a quarter of the planet.
