Simply saying "writes SW books for a living" is the same message. Adding a gender is unnecessary and makes it seem like it's an additional point.

You're being sexist.

That's what Traviss would say, but I don't think it's an entirely false statement. Why does the fact she is a woman have anything to do with the hypocrisy?
Of cause i could have written "person" instead of "woman" but the fact remains that she is a woman making a living out of writing SW books , it's no different than saying "Wong is a man who runs a Internet site".

But if Traviss came across what you said, she would make a point of using that to discredit your statement, and any others you made, by hand-waving and calling you a sexist. I'm trying to help you out here. :P

Traviss seems not to object to the idea of being a SW geek so much as she objects to people not being HER kind of Geek (IE the Mandalorian worshipping type or having the fetish with family values.) It kinda reminds me of that guy who mocked us but liked to dress up (Badly) like Freakazoid. Since we're not like "her" there must be something wrong with us (kinda like how we get mocked for emphasis on logic and numbers and science and the like...)

Of course, I also suspect Traviss has some deep seated psychological attachment to Fett and her whole self-conceived "Mandalorian" ideal, which probably explains why she vehemently attacks anyone who criticizes it (she takes it personally, much like some political or religious fanatics can, ironically enough.) It got tiresome having how heavily family oriented Mandalorians are supposed to be and how superior it makes them.

Maybe shes just like one of those people who recent the way they make a living , we're just all silly Geeks that should appreciate her lowering her standards for a while until she gets that great American bestseller written ...until then SW is just bread and butter for someone like her , but some day she'll show us all.

And then we will herald her SW novels as the finest form of SW writing ever.. how could we not.

Slightly off topic, but after seeing those pictures as well as Dark Moose's schtick on SW, does anyone else find his constant referencing to being a moose exceedingly tiresome and juvenile?

It even strikes me as a little disturbing after a while.
