Dawn found herself checking off guests as they came. She had grown used to Anya’s strange demon relations, so she was nonplused when a muscle-bound, green, squid-faced and winged demon in a fine suit arrived next.
“And you are?” she asked.
“I am Vorn: The Unspeakable! I am the enemy of the enemy of those who summon me! The skulls of those who defy me bleach in the sun of a hundred worlds!” The monster bellowed, then bent down slightly, and quietly asked: “And you are?”
“Dawn, I’m with the groom.”
“Nice to meet you, Dawn. Where do I sit?”
