Star Wars vs Star Trek "The Great Escape" part 2
The Situation
We substitute the German guards with Federation Security. The camp is the same though the stormies would have their 'normal' equiptment. How many men would be able to get through the tunnel before getting caught? Now the Tunnel will get built regardless. The plan was to get 250 out.

Federation security is kind of an oxymoron so I'd bet most of them get out.

The fadsa will actually do well here. Tricorders plus wide beam stun at the exit will work in their favor. Zero escapees.

this is to see how well would the fed sec. work in a situation without tricorders.
the german gaurds did not use radar to watch the camp so the tricorder is out

the federation is so dependent on technology they will not even know how to patroll the perimiter let alone the inside of the camp without some stupid technobabble thingie to gaurd or scan with.
i am basing this on whether trech tech (tricorders and such) is not allowed to be used by the gaurds.
i feel this is concerned with how well they would watch the camp with their own eyes and not how well their scanners will watch the camp.
if this is the case the feds are technologically and operationally blind because they dont do anything without a tricorder.
it will take them several days to even become comfortable with the primitive conditions of the camp.
when the prisoners see their gaurds they might even consider waiting and compleeting the tunnel's last 20 feet redoing the forged papers then just slipping out a week or two later
if the prisoners decide to go through with the escape as planned they won't have any problem slipping out unoticed as the gaurds are incapable of gaurding without any fancy tech to use.
my count is the more than 250 escape.

Fed Security....uh...huh....
I think that all of them would likely escape...even the near blind guy....its not as though he isnt on par with the security people.
Every time they are involved in conflict they demonstrate the survival capabilities of a lemming and the targeting ability of a somewhat retarded hamster.
Without at least three starships in orbit they couldnt even change the toilet paper in the guard office let alone spot the prisoners escaping....
Hell, with Fed Security you might even have an alright time leaving by the main gate....

Does it matter. The Guards in the tower might have Tricorders but the guys pacing the perimiter would not. The guards in the Tower would be watching the prison not the woodsFrank LLoyd Wright wrote:What does the referee say?Frank LLoyd Wright wrote:i don' think tricorders are allowedNecronLord wrote:The fadsa will actually do well here. I think the main gate would be the only place they would be able to actually guard. of course since only 250 are ready to get out is to bad cause its possible that the entire camp could escapeKeevan_Colton wrote:I think that all of them would likely escape...even the near blind guy....its not as though he isnt on par with the security people.

I'd bet the Feds will make believe they are doing a really good job as things are super quiet the next morning and the camp is empty.Isolder74 wrote:I think the main gate would be the only place they would be able to actually guard. of course since only 250 are ready to get out is to bad cause its possible that the entire camp could escapeKeevan_Colton wrote:I think that all of them would likely escape...even the near blind guy....its not as though he isnt on par with the security people.

how long will it take them to realise a quiet camp is not normal?

once the escape is over(the guards end it) the guards will play no part in the recapture of the prisoners. So the only importaint thing is how many would these new guards allow to escape.

The prisoners could probably just overwhelm the guards with no losses from the phaser's which get set to minimal stun and are fired in single carefully aimed shots which still miss from the lack of sights.
That or everyone's out and through the tunnel in by morning. Federation sensors can't anyone without a combadge 90% of the time, even when there still within a ship or station.

Yes and they would not have time to place combadges on all of the prisoners by the time the tunnel is ready. and remember they are not going to be watching the woods.Sea Skimmer wrote:The prisoners could probably just overwhelm the guards with no losses from the phaser's which get set to minimal stun and are fired in single carefully aimed shots which still miss from the lack of sights.

the point is that they don't know about the tunnel. they have been swapt in on the night of the escape. So the question is with Federation Security instead of the Lufwaffa guards how many would escape before the Feddies notice the tunnel?
