Schadenfreud... So, why did you buy the PS3 again?
because..
I was EXPECTING these as exclusives:
DMC4, AC6, MGS4.
I'm batting 1/3.

Only if we beleive that Microsoft has been a good business partner. Since the team-up with FFXI, more and more Nintendo Exclusives have been announced by S-E. This suggests all was not happy in it.
A 360 port will be good for U.S. sales, not Japanese.
Thing is, in terms of effort, a 360 port is a peice of cake compared to a Wii port.

Assumption in the previous post: 360 owners are likely to enjoy and embrace the Final Fantasy series. As I said earlier, the only RPG's to do well on the X-Box were 'sandbox', not 'storytelling'.

You don't consider all the Bioware games that came out for the X-box "storytelling" RPGs? They did fairly well, as far as I know.

Which ones were they? I'm thinking of things like Fable and Morrowwind, far more Sandbox than the FF series, which is notorious for being fairly railed.

Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, both fairly railed themselves.
Ah well. I was already pretty much totally pissed at Sony Corp., that they now have only one game going for them (assuming RE5 is multi-platform) is no surprise to me nor does it change my stance.
They have lost, even without FF going to another console (and really, I bet FFXIII would look lovely on the Wii given the beauty that is FFXII on the PS2).
Fable, despite the hype, was fairly railed as well.

Frankly, I know a bunch of people who will probably buy a PS3 for MGS4 alone, and that's fucking sad. You could RENT a PS3 and finish MGS4, instead of spending $1000 bucks on a huge paperweight.

I don't know how it is in Australia, but in the US I don't know of any places you could rent a console at. The last time you could do that was with the PS1 and the N64 at Blockbuster.

I think a better plan is to get Stark to somehow convert his cynicism into a form of energy, then we can use it to compete with the ailing Big Oil companies. After the first fiscal year, we may just have enough BILLIONS OF DOLLARIS to buy a PS3 and I project another six months investment and playing the markets until we get our hands on one of the library of 2 exclusive games for the beast.
I'll probably shoot m'self in the face if MGS4 jumps ship completely.. cause that'll be the death knell of the PS3 as well as Blu-Ray.

Is that not champion, comrades?
Pure, concentrated Stark? You could level entire countries with that! Imagine the ransom money we could rake in!

Shoot yourself in the face? It's just a goddamn console. You bet wrong, you spent $1000 on a console worth a third of that - just learn from the mistake, stop being a fanboy and move on.

Do you have any actual evidence supporting this? I see this trotted out all the time.
Compare the PS3 to the Xbox360, aside from technical differances that in the end can be overcome, in a proven fashion they are very similar in control interfaces, horsepower etc.
Compare to the Wii, it has maybe a quarter of the raw power, it has a totally differant user interface which means your interface has to be redesigned. Design takes more time, programming is more complicated, etc.

Moviestars rents out PS2's and Xbox's, but I don't know how widespread that chain of rental stores is.

The Wii lacks the power to do a successful port for one. I dare you to try porting Half Life 2 for a Mac G3 running at 500 mhz and OS9 without radically changing core components of the game. For example.

How many "storytelling" RPGs were there on the original XBox? As I recall, there was a distinct lack of traditional RPGs on the system, and that was a big reason it didn't do well in Japan.
