Forbidden books: Punisher+Death Note, Batman+Buddhist Palm

I'm just tossing out some ideas, seeing if they're worth writing fan fiction about. Anyways...

Frank Castle, discharged from a hospital after Mafioso kill his family, revisits Central Park to remember what happened and to remind himself of his decision to wage a one-man war on crime. He finds a black notebook on the ground...

The human whose name is written in this note shall die.

This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.

If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen. If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of a heart attack.

After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

Meanwhile, a beggar sells an eight-year-old Bruce Wayne the secret manual for the Buddhist Palm. Bruce Wayne practices the stances detailed in the manual, but they do him no good when his parents are killed. Angry and hurt, Bruce Wayne ends up becoming a petty criminal, but one day he's caught up in the Joker's gas attack. His body, forced to counter the effects of the Joker's poisons, unblocks the qi in his energy points. Bruce Wayne, gaining strength comparable to Superman's-- see the final battle in Kung Fu Hustle-- decides to abandon his life of petty crime and exact justice for his parents.

What happens to the two of them? Are there any ideas you'd like to see?

If you ask me, that Bruce Wayne Buddhist Palm thing is just too different - I mean, you've rewritten his entire personal story so that, while there are passing similarities, he's not really...you know, Batman anymore.

Maybe that Frank Castle thing would be cool. If he still ended up becoming the Punisher.

Death Note/Punisher, but only AFTER the Punisher has been 'born.'

Of course it'll occur after Frank Castle witnesses the murder of his own family, but he finds the Death Note before he begins committing what is legally considered murder-- the soldiers he killed in the Vietnam War don't count.

I believe Frank Castle WILL make the eye trade. Word of a "Punisher" killing criminals will eventually reach the media, but Frank Castle will be significantly more dangerous because all he needs to do to kill someone is see a person's face-- a photograph will do-- and write their name in the black notebook. In fact, he may write, "Fears for his life, surrenders to the police, and confesses all his crimes. Dies in prison," to increase the effects his actions have on the crime rate.

The Beast in Gotham? That WILL be awesome. Batman will have to ask for Superman's help to take down this guy. Hopefully, this will be AFTER the Beast kills the Joker for getting in his way-- I never liked that clown.

How the hell can it be the Punisher if all he does is murder people by writing stuff in a dinky notebook? The Punisher is about going up to the guy and shooting him in the face.

If you want to write something about Death Note, have some guy who lost his family stumble on the Death Note, but not Frank Castle. Or maybe he does the Notebook thing, but fucks up when some kind of Death Note nameless cult try to kill him. So, since he can't kill them via writing their names, he has to go good old Punisher guns blazing on them.

Maybe a World's Finest vs. the Axe Gang and the Beast would be great. The Axe Gang invades Gotham and, later on, Metropolis. Batman handles the normal Axers, and, to an extent, those crazy kung-fu mercenaries (the one with the blade-shooting guitar). But he has a helluva hard time. While the Axes send the Beast to Metropolis to duke it out with Superman. Facing such crazy kung fu opponents, both Bats and Super have to work hard and train in kung fu. Superman gets the Buddha book!

I understand where you're going-- detective L's investigation into the murders committed with the Death Note and Light's attempt to throw off L is a major conflict in 'Death Note'-- but Batman refuses to kill another human being, meaning he'd NEVER use the Death Note as intended. (Yes, I could have an angry 8-year-old Bruce Wayne write Joe Chill's name into the Death Note, but as Light pointed out, a kid would be so shocked by the power of the Death Note that he'd quickly hide it away-- no more conflicts with the Death Note.)
