The million dollar laptop

Post by Ace Pace »

Wow, I wonder how fast it boots.
Full details of the laptop have not been released at this point, but it is known that it incorporates a 17" widescreen LED lit screen with a specially designed anti-reflective glare coating for clear and brighter image, 128GB of Solid State Disk space and a slot loading Blue-Ray drive. There is an integrated screen cleaning device and a very rare coloured diamond piece of jewellery that doubles up as the power button when placed into the laptop and also acts as security identification.
Full article not quoted.

My neighbor had a million dollar laptop too, it was in old IBM thinkpad. It was the software on it that gave it value. This is just a waste of money, and overpriced. I mean okay big solid state drives cost a couple grand, and they're, from the sounds of it, putting in lots of other wastefully expensive thingamajigs, but I unless they're putting $750,000 worth of diamonds in it... how could it possibly be worth that much?

128GB of Solidstate memory, I'm not sure it even exists as a single drive right now. :?

Anyone who would buy such a thing should be considered mentally dead. What the hell is this company thinking?

In 5 years this machine will maybe be worth the diamonds it is encrusted. And in 10 years everyone will have all the pricey hardware trinkets in their own desktops.

So, buying a million dollar laptop sounds like an epitome of stupidity to me. If someone has a million dollars laying around and in dire need of a laptop, for god's sake, buy something fancy for 20 thousands and donate the rest to charities or Richard Dawkins fund.

Buying a luxurious car...you at least have some chance that it will keep its original value. But buying an overpriced and overhyped laptop? No thank you.
