If anyone has screencaps, please say so, but I don't think I saw any type of markings on Starbuck's Viper. No nameplate, or serial numbers...it was too clean. Meaning if it's real it could be a brand spankin' new Viper mk II (made on Earth...if that's where she went? Or a refurbished one captured by the Cylons?)

Uts and I both agree that it's like one of the worst things on TV. The directing and acting make it seem like Charmed for boys, and every single episode ends the exact same way: some crappy CG effect causes somebody to pass out or disappear, while other characters react by badly mugging for the camera.

Seriously, the put that crap on out of the blue but pass on giving The Lost Room a series? Fuck that. Colour me shocked if it's still on by nBSG's Season Four premiere.

The ep is replayed on Space Channel on Wed night here, and will be rewatching for any further intelligence data that can be gleaned

What the fuck is with the wait time though! 2008!? Any reason to suspect an April Fool's joke?

None at all. I recall that they've been saying "January 2008" since they first announced the renewal for a fourth season.

Thanks. US gets it re-aired Tuesdays at 11 pm, but I'm sure I'll be asleep by the time they get towards the end.

Just a note, I think this episode cemented Tigh as my favorite character in the series. In spite of his bad calls (start of season 2), his drunken moments and all. He had to spend most of the episode acting like the town nut-job and then pull together at the end, and say "Fuck if we're Cylons, I'm going to live and die as Saul Tigh."

Further, to add credit to the "they're Cylons!" revelation...it would explain why Chief Tyrol handled explosive decompression so well. I also was ready to laugh when the Chief got back to the flight deck and Cally asked where he'd been and he said "I'll tell you later!" Yeah...right, Chief.

I also can't imagine the series going beyond a fourth season at this point. RDM made the call to show us Earth. I don't think that should have been done unless we're going to get there soon.

I gave this episode a "4". I refrained form a "5" because I felt the season 1 and 2 cliffhangers truly left me on the edge of my seat wondering "how do they get out of this?" versus "okay...let's get a frakkin' explanation for this!" So, we'll see come January...

That Viper looks brand new, not a mark on it -- no ID numbers, and no Capt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace under the canopy rail either.

Nice catch :)

Does indeed. Missing every detail on it, except for the red stripes. Compare it to some pics of the CGI model:

If it's from Earth then it looks like we got a technically advanced planet on our hands. Even if they just cleaned up the one that "blew up".

Or aliens. But if that happens Edward James Olmos will eat RDM's face.

The utter coincidence of so many Cylons being in the ragtag fleet originally was a great enough coincidence for me as is. But four of the Final Five being key Colonials - XO of Galactica, President's aide, the deck chief, the Caprica resistance leader - strikes me as too great a coincidence.

Well, the introduction does tell us "And they have a plan." Perhaps the "they" it is referring to isn't the 7 skinjobs (as I think we've all been presuming), but the Final Five.

The "final five" were probably not even conceived of when the first episode was aired... and didn't someone note that they aren't even doing the "and they have a plan" line anymore?

Wasn't that only because the last two episodes were sans the standard pre-cold opening intro that precedes the recap?

I imagine we'll see it again in season 4. I'd guess it was dropped so they could cram more into these last two episodes. If we don't see it again, I'll be happy though. I always saw that thing as a time eater.

And there is no way the final five were conceived during the miniseries. In a cut scene Billy mentions how Tigh's father was a colonial soldier and his grandfather an advisor to a past President. If that were fact, then Tigh being a Cylon would be idiotic.

I liked the episode- it was MindFuck, but it was a good watch. I'm not convinced that Tory, Anders, Tigh and Tyrol are Cylons, and I think it'll be stupid if they are, but in any event, I really liked the way it ended with the zoomout and the zoom-in to Earth.

So, given what Moore has said about the show being two thirds complete... Will he stand by that and make the fourth season the final, or go for five? What are the actors contracts?

The contracts are five years (this was, I believe, the reason actor Paul Campbell wanted Billy Keikeya killed off in Season 2 as he was unwilling to commit all full five years), so unless an arrangement can be negotiated with the actors, we may get five rather than four seasons.

He also had other projects that he committed to, and didn't have the time to everything.

Five seasons will get us to the one hundred hour mark, though, so we might get that.
