[C&C3]Welcome Back, Commander

Who all is going to pick up the game today? I'm probably going to swing by Best Buy after work...
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I'll be picking it up as soon as it's available in Aus, whenever that is.

C&C95 was one of the first PC games I ever played, I got it free with my first computer (Pentium MMX 200MHz, 32MB of RAM, 4.3GB Bigfoot HDD, which is the size of half a brick :)). After the disappointing sequel, I hope we can finally get a game that outdoes the first one in terms of gameplay and plot.

Oh, and naturally, I can't wait to see that bald-headed maniac again.

I have it on pre-order I believe from amazon. It's out on the 30th here though so it's a bit more of a wait for me.

Oh damn, I need to go grab this tomorrow. Completely forgot about it, even though I played the demo to death.

Game wont' fucking install. The progress bar reaches the end and the dvd-rom drive just sits there, endlessly flashing, doing nothing (I checked the task manager). What the fuck is it with these tedious technical problems lately? It's such a pain in the arse.

I assume it's installed then..

I've noticed a lot of install programs lately sit on 99% for a long while for some reason.

This one sat on 99% complete for 15 frakking minutes, I shit you not. I was about to give up.

Anyway, playing the Nod campaign (I've always played Nod first. Always.) and it's tremendous fun. I'm up to the third mission (not including the prologue).

One thing I don't like is that it tracks your career and if you lose a mission (my commando got killed in the latest mission because I decided to dick around) it's permanently noted as a "Career Loss". :(

Sadly I just don't have the time for it right now, especially since my PC will need an upgrade to run it. :(

Vympel, just out of curiosity, do you get a briefing or something during the install like in the older C&C games?
"I want to mow down a bunch of motherfuckers with absurdly large weapons and relative impunity - preferably in and around a skyscraper. Then I want to fight a grim battle against the unlikely duo of the Terminator and Robocop. The last level should involve (but not be limited to) multiple robo-Hitlers and a gorillasaurus rex."--Uraniun235 on his ideal FPS game

It will not run on Vista64 unless you crack it (due SecureROM crappyness). :(

Well if its based on C&C Generals there'll be a text file in My Documents that'll have such stuff recorded ;) .

Anyway, my copy will be arriving by 7th April - got it coming with a pile of other 40K odds and ends :) .

As always, can you lucky people supply pictures to tease those of us with crappy PC's which would melt if we tried to play the game?

Actually CnC3 isn't high on system requirements. It's basically the CnC Generals engine souped up somewhat. Nothing like supcom.

I had the same problem.

Eventually I just decided to leave it for a while and come back, it had finished itself off eventually somehow.
Almost lost it though.

I'm loving the game so far. Playing through GDI and even on hard it feels a little too easy so far. But damn I love the cutscenes, it feels like C&C. Thoguh the music is very uninspiring for me, nothing as 'omph' as Franky was. BUt I'm willing to wait.
