After you beat both GDI and Nod.
And man, y'all weren't fooling about that Croatia mission. I may have to throttle it back to normal.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
I love the way they mis-pronounce Ayer's Rock in the game "AIIERS Rock."
Anyway, I would've liked if Six died somewhat more gruesomely than simply being shot.
I really love the missions where you've got plenty of Tiberium fields, and a few Tiberium spikes to play with- infinite funds = Avatar swarm!

Can someone tell me how does one manage the mission objectives and constant need to take out superweapons, defend against Scrin air and ground attacks in Ground Zero?
I thought I was doing quite well......... until a combined NOD/Scrin air attack wiped out all my refineries...... Hell. I'm still wondering how on earth the Scrin popped a base right in the middle of mine.

The Scrin have a unit called the Mastermind, which can teleport with impunity. Be wary of it. It'd suggest trying to take the offensive early (hit the Scrin rift generator) and keep the AI busy. You'll probably need some fighters on standby to take out Scrin devestators and a whole lot of AA guns to deal with their carrier units.
A few mammoth tanks should be able to take out the Nod stealth field generators, which'll keep the Nod busy for awhile dealing with the Scrin mothership.

Hey, did anyone else get a crash on their system during the prologue mission? I just picked it up today, loaded and started. I did the ion cannon bit on the NOD base, then the game crashed and I got a dialog box saying there was a D3D error in one of the .dat files, and 200-300 lines of error codes.
"And the sign said, 'Anybody caught tresspassing, will be shot on sight.' So I jumped over the fence and yelled at the house, 'Hey! What -'" BAM*BAM*BAM*BAM*BAM
WTF kind of ending for Nod was that? Absolutely zero payoff. Just a pat on the back from Kane and then a lead-in to a bloody expansion pack (hopefully).
Bastards.

Just finished the GDI campaign, reloading a save so I can get both endings.
Is it me or
is it easier to do the mission if you don't use the Liquid Tiberium Bomb to blow the shit out of the aliens?
First time i didn't use the bomb and the aliens killed Nod while i was killing them.
Second time i took the aliens down with the bomb and then Nod suddenly developed a forward base (another one, not the one with the nuke) and started pushing hard.
I guess there's no benefits to using the bomb, except to see Lando's smile
Now i need to go and polish off the last act of the Nod missions, is there multiple endings for that too?

How the hell do you complete Operation Stiletto?
Do they expect me to hold off the Scrin myself? GDI mobile forces and base defences are worthless in this mission, at least until Nod commandoes come knocking. While I can take out a few power plants and turrets and then capture the southern base, the Scrin inevitably destroy the north-western one, causing mission failure.
Actually, why do I need two construction yards? Argh.

Operation: Stiletto Walkthrough for those who are well and truly stumped on it . No idea if it's any use as I haven't got my copy yet, but be grateful I'm saving you from Googling it yourself .

Even with that walkthrough, which I looked up after I failed Operation Stiletto like, three times, the mission is a right bastard, and is totally not dependent on anything you do or don't do.
Setting it to Easy makes capturing the GDI base less of a pain in the arse, but you still have no control over GDI smashing the Scrin with Mammoths and destroying the structures you need to capture before you arrive. Just immediately start churning out Mammoths and send them straight at the Scrin base to protect their drone platform (destroy everything else)- then capture it and defend it. Smooth sailing from there.

Hey, have any of you encountered a bug where GDI grenadiers will throw grenades at thier feet for a few seconds after clearing out a garrison building? I just noticed this and it's very annoying, since they not only take themselves out but any other infantry who happen to be nearby...

For Operation Stiletto you need blind luck.
I've had to restart that one over a dozen times.
For some reason GDI forces don't cream my units until I actually start shooting at them even though I nuked the Sydney GDI base. This allowed me to literally walk into their base.
First few times the Scrin took out the GDI secondary base before I had time to send in more then a pair of Mammoths. After that I streamlined my production to the point that they got there and got creamed by the Scrin.
After taking a break I used my commando to take out the Scrin walker battling GDI near the NOD starting location. Just doing that gave me more time (over 1/2 a dozen Mammoths near the secondary GDI base) before GDI started taking out the Scrin bases.
The attempt which succeeded started with my mammoths (+ support) fighting a pitched battle in the center of the map. I managed to deploy rigs to get defenses build along the main attack avenues expanded that until there was a solid line of defenses across the map (note I'm a turtle when it comes to these kind of games).

Is it me, or are the GDI defences weaker than the rest of the races in terms of cash value? The Sonic disrupter appears to be the only item that lives up to its cash value, and I have to question its effectiveness against non scrin infantry units. I found fanatics were able to swarm a front with two disrupters covering it , destroying a disrupter whereas an equivalent defence with two Obelisks or the Scrin equivalent could hold them off.
Also, can someone run by me what units the Avatar can scavenge again?

Hmm, flame tanks, those artillery beam thingys (forget the name), attack bikes, and 2 others if I remember right (so probably the buggy & scorpion).
EDIT: Woo just had my copy arrive a day early (ordered it with various other things from Amazon) .

I'm watching the blooper reel right now...it's pretty funny.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
The Avatar scavenge ability is a nice gimmick, but just hopelessly impractical. There's no reason for it at all, you should be able to just click an upgrade button and give it all the relevant capabilities. It already costs $3000 Tiberium- once you tack on the price of the Beam Cannon, Flame Tank, Attack Bike and Stealth Tank, you're getting an extremely expensive unit that is still no match for a Mammoth (AFAIK). Sure, it's got stealth, has a flamethrower, and two lasers, and can detect stealth units but ... meh. Cool in singleplayer when you can build up hordes and crush the enemy, but for multiplayer I can't imagine it being successful.
Really, the Avatar should've gotten anti-air defence from the attack bike, not stealth detection.
From a balance perspective, I've also got to wonder at the logic of making the useless Juggernaut the recoverable unit for GDI. It should be the Mammoth. As the Nod or Scrin player, there's no incentive to capture a Juggernaut. It's just not that useful, in my view.
