Well, aside from the obvious highlights of Thrawn, I'd have to say that HK-47 comes at a very close second. Revan seems cool but his character is so empty... it's like a wanked out Sith whose personality was an empty shell so *you* could understandably fill it out in the game. HK-47's character is just very colorful despite being a mere assassin droid. You're always waiting for what he's going to say next.

PREDATOR490, I thought canon policy decided that? (IIRC, it'd be "everything that isn't game mechanics or contradicted by the book." For example, I'm of the belief that the X-Wing books' TIE Defender is more canonical than that in both TIE Fighter and X-Wing: Alliance, performance-wise.)

Mara Jade.
I liked the character the moment I read her. Zahn's stories became all about Luke and Mara to me....so I was incredibly overjoyed with the main characters in "Survivor’s Quest"

Late, but here you go:The Vortex Empire wrote:It's not cool. He has a blue lightsaber, while red is much better-looking. Give him a red saber, and then it would be cool.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

I'm voting for Thrawn. Heroes are defined by the villains they face, and Thrawn is one of two 'Star Wars' villain outside of the movies to make an impression on me. (The other one is Prince Xizor.)
Seriously, do EU writers have that big a problem writing about COMPETENT villains? If the villain is incompetent, that means the hero is also incompetent for failing to counter the villain's scheme until the end of a story. Why don't the writers understand that? Considering how many of them rip off better writers, they must have read some well-written novels, so they can understand how a reader feels about incompetent villains.

Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.
Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.
They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)
