The Legion of Everblight are not offspring of Toruk. They are the offspring of the Dragon known as... Everblight. He's a rival of Toruk, as Toruk tried to kill of his kin.

Well, to get technical Everblight is a child of Toruk who is . . .dum-dum-dum. . the Father of Dragons. And they are all evil mofos.

How corrupt is Toruk's power? Clerics of Toruk permanently lose a point of Constitution for every level they gain above five. Dragonblight you got to love it. . . . if you're a mutant or undead freak.

Actually IO, I was wondering. With the funds currently at Guren's disposal, how likely is it to actually cast some rune bullets? While the costs of the lead and gold aren't that high (1gp), what about getting ahold of a forge and a man who knows how to use it? Oh, and a new gunner's kit, as the old one was probably damaged somewhat.

A gunner's kit will be available in town and is all you need to cast rune bullets.

Raj you're getting a little bit ahead of yourself here. I understand you're eager but posting things like 'and we ride out of town' when half the group hasn't even posts, let alone the DM, is getting ahead of things.

Sorry about that. My intention was to leave wiggle room so the other players could post what they wanted to buy in a "before we left, we bought this" sort of way. If you all want me to erase/edit the last post, I will do so. I don't want to be forcing anyones hand or anything. I guess I'm just a little too used to running my own games :(

Edit: In fact, I'll just delete my latest post in the game thread. It was just me having everyone set out and asking about the tactics we wanted to use for the scouting mission.

Raj, it's no biggy. I was just under the impression our group was going to hire a Khadoran Grizzly Adams so our characters don't screw up the wilderness thing. So there was an issue with that and there is always the DM's discretion in having use get into scrapes in town.

I know what you mean about the whole play by post thing. I've only done it a couple of times myself and it's not easy with people being kind of erratic.

Well I just didn't want to push things along, and honestly the post I deleted wasn't that important anyway. (I kinda wanted to hire a guide as well, come to think about it).

By the way, just what would be a reasonable payment for this guide we are trying to recruit? I'm not 100% sure about monetary system in the Iron Kingdoms.

This sucks mightily, but due to circumstances which I don't want to elaborate, I might be without an internet connection for a couple of weeks  . Praise the freebox  !

So basically, Arkady might feel dozy for a while.

He's going to want a lot of money. He's got a skill set in short supply and you want him to go into a very risky place. He'll want many gold pieces.

Well, that sucks :(

To Imperial Overlord: Thanks for the info. Looks like we'll have to give this guy a substantial share of the payment.

I have an internet connection now, though it is a bit on the unreliable and erratic side, and will remain so for about a week.

Well I'm cetainly ready to get moving on towards Korovo. I just hope we don't have to deal with a necromancer or something like that. Well, come to think of it, even a conventional threat that could kill a whole company of Winter Gaurd can get us just as dead! Still, I'm eager to see what it is. (Even is Konrad is being a bit cynical about the whole thing :P )

I'm betting on hideous, unspeakable half-dead draconic monstrosities from the depths of hell.

IIRC I had two invisibility spells prepared. They will cover their recipients for a duration of 8 minutes. I can prepare extended-duration versions for 16 minutes, but I won't have enough spell slots for everybody, and it will curtail my offensive magic (including my dispel magic, and two evocative spells that I could use for improved counterspell with my feat - ie I can dish out lightning, but I can also prevent the fireball from hitting us) quite a lot for a spell that will not cover us that long. Plus I need to rest before preparing that.
We will have to discuss the strategy: I say we come as close as we can, cast invisibility (or extended invisibility if I have the time to prepare it) on a couple of scouts who will try getting some clues as to the identity of our foe.

Plus, given the animalistic nature of our foes, track by scent is a very real possibility.
Question for the DM: I took a lot of ranks in Alchemy (13, to be precise). Can I make up a compound that will hide our scent with the materials at hand? It does not need to bestow upon us the ability to foil tracking dogs - merely avoid that the wind would give off our scent when we sneak up near the place.

Oh and Arkady intends to examine the sealed orders with Konrad. I bet that between his alchemy and magic, and Konrad's skills at espionage, we can peer into that and then make it as good as new

Honestly, do we even have a chance against those guys in battle? If the dragon thingies are immune to fire, it will be a little hard for Arkady to hit them. Nevermind over a dozen elves of unkown level.

We'll have to play dirty, I guess. I feel Arkady would love to brew a poison phial or two for his crossbow bolts, just in case.

A good plan, that.

As far as fighting monsters goes, the worst thing I think we could take is a small rear guard. We need to find out more about what the monsters are before we can really trhink about killing them off.

On the bright side it looks like the operation will go off withour a hitch, and we'll get paid a lot for not much effort :D

Maybe if hell freezes over
