Attending Celebration IV?

Post by Tychu »

Ironically, after a series of events I am indeed going to Celebration IV in Los Angeles. Shamefully this Star Wars fan forgot that it was being held in Los Angeles and on the weekend of the 25th-28th of May. I have to be in LAX on May 31st to catch my plane to New Zealand so I booked some time ahead to take in the sites of Los Angeles, maby see the Mann's Chinese Theater then I relearned that Celebration IV was being held when i'll be there.

So if any of you SD.neters will be attending or if you guys know how exactly to get to the convention from the LAX please post. Plus any of you who attended all of the Indianapolis ones please tell me what to expect.

I live an hour south of LA and would like to go, but do not really have the cash.

Other side of the states for me. Maybe if it ever comes to Orlando.
Please forgive any idiotic comments, stupid observations, or dumb questions in above post, for I am but a college student with little real world experience.

I'm officially appearing on Saturday. Autographs will be $5.00, pictures with me will be $10.00...

Didn't anybody tell you it's not nice to impersonate Dr. Saxton like that?

As for how to get to the convention center, I'm not sure at the moment, but i'll PM you once I figure out the route my dad and I will be taking.

I plan to attend all four days that it is open to the public. (the first day is for fan club members only)

I was at all of the first three celebrations. The first one was in denver, and it was outdoors in pouring rain. That was by far one of the most misrable experiences i've ever had on vacation.

The second and third ones in indianapolis were entertaining, but there were long lines to get in when the convention first opened in the morning.
There is usually no wait to get in by around 12 or 1.

I haven't designed one, yet. What would be a good image? A clonetrooper with Yoda's lightsaber through his chest, with Talifan # 001 or something?

I hope I can get more than 7 to 12 volunteers....

If I could get there, I would wear it. And say nothing but 'Durka Durka' all day.

Whatever you do, don't use Saxton's face or likeness in any way. It's bad enough some tards think we follow him like a religious leader. Or a Fandalorian. :P

Damn, don't egg me on. I'll get a bunch of Saxtonites together, we'll wear robes, walk in a line, and rhythmically beat a copy of the AOTC:ICS over our heads while we chant, "200 gigatons...200 gigatons..."

Nah. You could go carry a banner with some picture of Saxton and model it after some Soviet poster....

What about Che Guevara instead?

I live an hour south of LA, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. I may end up being out of town that weekend.

Won't that look quite comical? I was thinking of having Saxton with some halo and stuff like that around him

How long do these things usually last?

I mean I'll be attending on the 3rd and 4th day and would love to pick one of these up

and for some reason I forgot how to name links. It must have been a "worse" 21st birthday than I thought

IIRC last time all the "Convention Exclusive" stuff went on sale on the official site's store right after the event. Not sure though.

The Celebration Store lines were absolutely horrific last time. They were longer than the lines to get in.

This time around, anyone who pre-orders a badge can make an appointment to visit the store and shop.
