I have a wee problem I hope you all can help me with. My computer randomly freezes and resets. When it comes back up there is a message about a kernal fault check. In the last month I've changed the hard drive, memory, psu and graphics card in an attempt to stop this, but it's worse than ever. I can get like 20 minutes of oblivion played before it dies.
Please help.

You may have a faulty mother board. Perhaps you could check the CMOS battery and try replacing that? Alternately, are all of your components properly seated? etc.Lord Pounder wrote:I have a wee problem I hope you all can help me with. My computer randomly freezes and resets. A dying battery would not cause these problems.
I'm inclined to suspect motherboard as well.

I format my HD every few months and every time I install new hardware in the case, I also give it a good clean and make sure everything is firmly plugged in. The case does travel occasionally and things can become loose. I don't think it's overheating. there is 4 or 5 fans running in the machine, but i hope it is something stupid like that.
My best guess is that it is the motherboard and/or the CPU. So i'm gonna take the opportunity to upgrade while I'm at it. I was thinking of a getting a Pentium for the first time in my life. I'd rather stick with AMD but it seems they're getting squeezed out of the market, most computer shops around Belfast and NI in general aren't selling them anymore.
Thanks for all the advice guys.
