Guitar Hero 2:360 Thread

Post by Stark »

Has anyone else got GH2 on 360 yet? Flash and I are bashing through at the moment, and it's amusing to watch the leaderboard scores drop off as you go through the sets (ie, only 20k people have beaten Sweet Child O' Mine right now). The additional songs are pretty neat - Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo is kickin rad - and the leaderboard demands a SDN rockoff. My gamertag thingy is 'nullstark', and Flash's score for Can't You Hear Me Knocking is like #204 out of 35k or something.

Difficulty doesn't matter to the ranking, so there's no point trying for a good score on expert if you suck at that level (like me). Let the competition commence? :D

I picked it up too. Since I haven't got internet at home I unfortunately am not on the leaderboards at all, but I'll try to rectify that.

Besides the new songs, the best thing is that they reorganized the song list. There's actually some sort of progression and the group a song is listed in has some sort of bearing on what the sound looks like. It's crazy!

I have trouble with the Xplorer's whammy bar, though. It seems to only work at random intervals.

I just hope they'll have a bit more metal available for download. The stuff they got is nice, but they're not my favorite songs from any of those groups by a long shot. That said...more Lamb of God and A7X=Image

Yeah, on PS2 the sets were almost random. Really easy songs in the fourth set, first set encore way harder than anything else in the first set, etc.

I have a problem with the super-inversion - it starts the super almost a second after the 'invert' motion stops. Missing the start of a huge pile of rapid-fire notes = fail.

I hope whatever they have for download isn't as BORING as the stuff already there. Just *watching* Flash play Freya bored me to tears. Repeating same five-note sequence for more than thirty seconds = fail. Of course, the non-suck GH1 music is pretty much why I got the 360 version: I hate 60-70% of the music in 2, and the unsigned stuff is almost universally terrible or generic.

Vendetta, is EDF out in America?

And Freya is probably the worst song in the whole damn game. The clip they play when you hover over it sounds good, but that line only comes up twice in the whole damn song. I don't remember if it even had vocals, which isn't good either. If you're gonna have no (decent) vocals, then your instrumentals better be damn good...which that song obviously fails on.

I liked Lady Lightning, it's the ultimate coop song, since both players get a solo.

Yeah, EDF is out. I was looking at it, but cheap as it is I think I'll wait for it to go down since it looks like a great idea with no budget.

There are some controllers out there with duff whammy bars. Redoctane will replace it if it's an affected model.
