Who would win, Kirk in his classic enterprise from the original series, with the highest end calc's available, or an SSD with Vader in command.

What are the highest calcs for the enterprise btw?

The SSD has immensely powerful weapons. The Connie has to self-destruct in order to generate a 100 megaton blast. Its only real weapon is Trek fanboy fanaticism, which won't count for much against heavy weapons.

Mike, read the first post. This postulates the HIGHEST end calcs, nothing else. Using the highest end calc the original Enterprise took a greater then DS level hit on its bare hull.

Hey you never know, Kirk may challenge the SSDs captain to a duel for hsi ships freedom. AnynormalImperial officer would blast him into a larger-than-usual expanding cloud of space vapor right there. But somebody like Daala? Kirk gets off with out a scratch, and might even take Daala to bed with him, too.

Just liked back in the "Executor versus E-D" thread. Kirk tries to hail them, Spock says the only logical thing for them to do is to respond the hail and stop. Executor plows through the ship. As the ship speeds away we see the new SSD bumber sticker "WE brake for nobody"

Coincidentally I think that Spaceball 1 could take the E-nil also.

Besides, we all know that even the most powerful ST ships couldn't stand up to a Star Destroyer, what makes anyone think a relic from the Klingon cold war era could outperform the modern arsenal of SF?

Well the constitution class does outpreform "modern" trek designs. It still can't take on an SSD.

Wait, doesn't anyone else here find it strange that in this scenario the ST side is allowed to field totally unrealistic über-wank-calcs while the SW side needs to stick to reasonable low-end?

Now in order to make this fair perhaps we should allow the ECS to use WEG scaling for heavy weaponry......

But the uber wank calcs vs. SW low end is the best way to do this because it proves to rabid trekkies that no matter how much they juice the numbers there's no way they can come up with a remotely legitimate argument to refute the fact that one ISD running loose in the Alpha Quadrant would pretty much wipe out everything.

I remember that funny bit...and as for the argument at hand...I dunno...both sides going completely and totally overboard...I say the SSD wins unless it's facing Kirk and the Enterprise.
