Since I'm a Taxman in real life, I'm sure I'd enjoy working for the Empire in the same capacity.

I'd just have the teeth to back it up.

You're not collecting taxes? Oh, that's a same. Perhaps you'd like to explain why when the Stormtroopers arrive?

And yes, I'd like a bribe, thank you.

What's this loyal tax collector? He refuses to pay? First Sergeant TR-8557, please introduce this 'citizen' to the newest model of E-11, the Stormtrooper Three Blaster Rifle, which our Emperor has graciously provided us.

Schatten, you're doing an excellent job. Although your implications that I was a Rebel got me fired from the great recruiting office. (That place even had free coffee and casual Fridays, asshole. ) But nevermind that, as a result of your actions I am now your Sergeant. Finding this Rebel with Solauren's help was good and all *blasts him* but your method is far too mercifull. I think their is room for improvement.

Why would it cost me? It's not an opinion it's a fact, and he's shown rather Rebel-like qualities, such as spelling armour without a 'u' (Everyone knows Officers have british accents) and has defied my orders, which the Emperor grants me the right to do, tell me why I shouldn't have my men fire on YOU and claim the Sergeant did it?

I meant on the record, and facts or not, opinions sway better espicially from an informant.

As for why it would cost you for a yes-man, I need to make a living don't I?

You'd probably have to survive a few hundred patrols in standard TIEs and interceptors before they'd consider you for an elite squadron.

Depends on what branch he's part of. The Coalition for Improvements, for example, seems stable enough. Looks kinda fun, actually.

Also, file clerks wouldn't get as much hatred from the enemy intelligence. The public, though, would look on Enforcer Talen with contempt.

I think I'd like to be an explorer. With an HRD companion! Yeah, the perfect solution to long lonely hyperspace flights!

Maybe work for a cruise line. I imagine there are some pretty spectacular sights in the SW universe.

Eh, a modern artillery barrage will kill you as much as a gigaton-yield turbolaser salvo. Difference is with the turbolaser it'll probably be quicker.

What about siesmic charges? Point is you can take cover and shit from modern artillery barrages - you might be able to drive away from likely hit points - you're not going to be able to escape GT level weaponry unless you're in a spacecraft.

Being a soldier in this world would be a lot more like being a ground soldier in Slade's TBOverse or the soldiers in Red's Humanist Inheritance.

Seismic charges like the ones Jango Fett used might not be too bad if you can get above / below them (preferably below of course :P , although you might have a repulsorlift vehicle or something handy). Even if you're a floor or two above the explosion, if you're in a storm trooper suit you're unlikely to take too much damage from a fall (things falling on you = different matter of course :P ).

That was a vacuum detonation. Don't you think an atmospheric seismic charge detonation would, I don't know, displace the air just like how a nuclear blast creates a shockwave that'll blow you apart like a pile of leaves?

Oh, well, just don't take off that helmet and you'll be fine, trooper :P

Last I checked, nuclear bombs didn't have that expanding ring doing all the damage. Sure around it I would expect a shockwave, but I haven't seen any proof of even a remotely spherical explosion from those seismic charges aside from immediately around the charge itself. Ie at the level of that ring you're screwed, but above or below it is much safer.
