Good question. Hmm. Well, he supposedly made humans in his own image, and we are combustible, so I would say yes.
That would explain the burning bush.

Wow. You honestly believe that you just gave correct definitions, don't you?

It's always amazing that these people who literally have about a grade 6 grasp of science seem to think they can mount a powerful argument on a science-related subject.

So, who wants to bet he'll come back in the somewhat-distant future with his next brilliant argument after most of us have forgotten about this incident?

If oxygen had no measurable influence on the world (and by that I do NOT refer to emotions), how would it have been identified in the first place? Seriously, that's such a lame analogy, I can get an oxygen tank and blow oxygen on my hand and hear it hissing. I can also see it when it first gets sprayed, you can see any gas distorting the air, and you can see it expand if you spray it in a vacuum.
Of course it is there. The only way that you can know that there is no God is to know everything about everything, which would *make* you omnipotent, and if you know everything, then that would make you God.
Firstly, you got your omnis fucked up; omnipotence is to do with power, not knowledge (omniscience).

The only way that you can know that there is no antiGod is to know everything about everything, which means if you are theistic and you are logically consistent, you must believe in antigod as well as God. If you do that, antigod negates God and you must believe he's nonexistent.

I love that one. So many times I've mentioned something in the Bible which is either embarrassing or contradictory, and I get something like "I'll check that passage and get back to you" or "I'll talk to my youth minister and get back to you" or "I'll talk to my prayer group and get back to you." They almost never do. The few times they do come back to you, they try to change the subject, as if the previous conversation never happened. It often goes like this:

"Hello again."
"So, did you look up that passage?"
"Yes I did. But I think you're missing the point."
"And what's the point?"
"Salvation in Christ Jesus."

Oh my...

Does he really think that Kent Hovind is a master debater? Doesn't he "debate" using a powerpoint presentation with pre-set arguments on it, which he doesn't let his opponents see beforehand? And audiences stacked with pro-creationist morons?

If that's Computer Wizard's standard of good debating, it's a small wonder he'll end up being a tiny, insignificant spot on SD.net's radar.

The really sad thing is that before I did the IP check, I would have bet good money that he was just a kiddie, maybe 15 years old at most, based on his argument technique. Then I find out he's going to community college, which means he must have graduated high school. Scary.

Not necessarily. He could have been home-schooled. He is from "the-middle-of-nowhere, Louisiana" after all.

So he's from the South? I wonder what his views on the Confederacy and Civil War are. Based on what we've seen, I bet he's one of those pansy slavery apologists too.

PSEO options, at least in Minnesota, don't make this certain, he could still be as young as 15. You might laugh, but some really stupid people do get into PSEO, including creationist fundies.

As a happy-feel-good story, I'll tell you about a guy I met these last three days, while attending a conference in Warsaw. He's a 30 years old Brit who has now a MSc in Biology and a PhD in some sort of computer science. Great guy. We started talking in the first day and at some point the conversation went to his past.

It turns out that he was raised a fundamentalist Christian, and as old as the age of 20 he was more hardcore into it than his own parents. Even got married (virgin) to another one like him. Anyway, he decided to take a degree in Biology and made helping to prove Evolution wrong the theme of his thesis. He investigated, he researched, and he became an atheist 8)

His wife divorced him, but he got married again recently and apparently his new, non-fundamentalist wife enjoys anal..

On a related note, it happened twice (while Rebecca was still Christian) that her congregation found out about my lack of faith. In both cases, they immediately tried to separate us, inviting her to various events and telling her to make sure I didn't come, etc. So much for "family values".

I find that Theism takes a level of ignorance I can't be bothered to gain... I recently ran into a Christian whom asked have we ever seen evolution, I pointed out virus' and bacteria, he said that's not evolution, it's living organisms adapting to their environment.
