Dr. Who Ep. 2903: Gridlock [Spoilers]
It seems it may be on...
The trafficjam to end all trafficjams... I rather liked it, although I'd've liked a bit more exposure on the stuff that killed the whole city. But the relation between Martha and the Doctor got developed a bit and that was good.
Next week that pesky Dalek returns! Yay!

Damnit! Why do they allways show the Daleks in the preview? Wouldn't it be better to keep them as a surprise?
As for the episode, meh. Not as good as the others, but not bad either. Ending was nice and as predicted Boe's message was that he wasn't alone. Cue mass speculation on who the other time lord is.

They killed new new york. The bastards.
Now I'll have to go and look into the possibility of, in five billion years, what galaxies will be 50,000 light years away. Possibly it's in one of the sattellites.

The next episode is entitled 'Daleks in Manhatten'... Somehow I think it'd be a waste of time tying to make that into a surprise.2000AD wrote:Damnit! Why do they allways show the Daleks in the preview? Wouldn't it be better to keep them as a surprise?

Well surely they could have named it something else. Then we get those pig things as the enemies, we beat them, oh look the Daleks are behind it, cue cliffhanger for second part.NecronLord wrote:The next episode is entitled 'Daleks in Manhatten'... Personally I was hoping for...
"You are not alone."
"What?"
* Face of Boe regenerates, kicks the Doctor in the crotch *
"That's for Gallifrey!"

The bliss patch kind of reminded me of the gas in Serenity in a similar-but-not-really kinda way.
I did enjoy it a fair amount, and I can only hope Martha has a few more strops in the series, just to see the Doc not give a flying monkeys, like he almost didn't tonight.
How they intend on getting rid of the Macra wasn't really explained though...

Nor for that matter did they explain how the Macra got there in the first place. But since they lived on fumes, and the cars are all gone now, things ain't looking good for our favourite giant devolved crab creatures from hell...

Presumably they'll re-occupy the city, cancel the quarantine and get the rest of Humanity to come give the crabs a kicking with tanks and such.Dartzap wrote:How they intend on getting rid of the Macra wasn't really explained though...

They bought the Macra back? Since I haven't seen this episode yet, did they look good with DW special effects.
And the message wasn't that much of a secret. Any one who bought the Doctor Who sourcebooks would have known that one.

Not a bad episode, though I'd go mad with that existence. Did anyone else get Serenity vibes from the cause of the death of the planet?
Boe dying and his last words got me thinking though. If Saxon isn't The Master, he must be a Timelord still. I refuse to accept he's not in on this somehow.

Well knowing the Doctor's luck it has to be the Master, since only the good die young and evil pricks are hard to kill.Boe dying and his last words got me thinking though. If Saxon isn't The Master, he must be a Timelord still. I refuse to accept he's not in on this somehow.
The thing is through Boa keeping the fact the Master existed still makes him a bit of a barstool... After all he had a chance to tell the Doctor a while back but didn't. So he didn't tell the Doctor that a man who was a real threat to the Universe was still around.Big Orange wrote: Well knowing the Doctor's luck it has to be the Master, since only the good die young and evil pricks are hard to kill.
No I wonder if the Master is a false lead, that perhaps we will see the Master and have the Doctor think that was who the face was talking about only to have it revealed that he meant someone else... someone perhaps Boa was hiding for their own safety or something similar.
From a review of the two Towers.... 'As for Gimli being comic relief, what if your comic relief had a huge axe and fells dozens of Orcs? That's a pretty cool comic relief. '

The whole thing seemed to be a take-off of the Penfield emotion-inducer thingies from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, but of course the idea's been used all over the place.Dartzap wrote:The bliss patch kind of reminded me of the gas in Serenity in a similar-but-not-really kinda way.

Entirely predictable message really
Still a good episode mind.
