AIM crashing on startup.

Post by Rogue 9 »

Both AIM and MSN Messenger keep crashing for no apparent reason. I get no error messages and no report crash option; they seem to shut down normally. AIM looks like it's doing it more. Does anybody know what's up?
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

If two separate and unrelated programs are behaving this way, I'd be somewhat concerned. I'm not sure what would cause both to go bonkers at the same time, to be honest.

If you're looking for suggestions, my first would be to try uninstalling and reinstalling both programs - failing that, try Trillian or another multi-IM client that can handle both, and see how stable it appears to be for you.

Dunno why, but AIM 5.9 crashes whenever I exit, after the program disappears from my GUI (at least from the system tray in Windows XP)...
