You know, for all the vitriol they throw SD.net's way, bannings for impopular views...simply don't happen here. Lots of people were banned simply for being obtuse, borderline retarded or for daring MW to do so, but I've never seen someone banned for arguing his point, even if his stance is unpopular on the board.

While it seems some other forums simply ban anyone who doesn't seem to conform to their views, without so much as giving him a warning.

I think his site's down, because I find it hard to believe anyone from my ISP's address range has gotten IP banned already. Owing to the fact that I never registered in the first place.

His site is down because this I checked his place using a school computer, my laptop and my desktop; all did not have his site running also his home page shows that the sever has problems.

If this is the result of what I think it is, I have to say:

It's amazing what a single phone call can accomplish!

This morning I called up Paramount's legal affairs division and spoke to a very nice lawyer who was shocked and amused at the same time that some greasy-palmed fucktard with a severe case of homophobia (which goes over sooooo well in Hollywood) and racism would try to claim legal rights over a property he neither owns nor is enlisted to work on behalf of the property. The fact that Dante Lyin' Tard also tried to pass himself off as a moderator for YouTube was also good for a laugh. When I mentioned this, the attorney's interest kicked into high gear. I led him to Lyin' Tard's website over the phone and got a distinctive HMMMMMMMMMMMMM from the lawyer's end of the line.

I sent him links to Lyin' Tard's site and cut & pasted the e-mails where the little shithead claimed to represent Bridge Commander AND YouTube (which is very funny as I'll explain below *). He did not tell me just what he was going to do, but I know enough about lawyers (one in the family) to know that they don't spend that kind of time on the phone and doing research without a Cease & Desist being served post haste.

As an aside, I jokingly asked him that if Paramount was giving away franchises, could I have Indiana Jones? He chuckled and said no way since Indy was worth so much more than Star Trek.

(This is a double whammy since Paramount only has distribution rights to Indy. )

He thanked me for the info, and that was that.

*The down side is this: Paramount's parent company is currently suing YouTube and has made them remove countless videos pending court or settlement. So don't be shocked if Legal decides none of these videos is worth the hassle and simply dumps all of them.

If it's "Ian's" website why is it called Leonhart Studios? I get the distinct impression that "Ian" and "Dante" are in fact the same person and that forum was just one pud-flogging loser talking to himself like Oliver in the 4th season of Coupling.

My theory: They're just idiot college kids using either Mom & Dad's account or the school's account. Either way, it's a good bet Viacom's lawyers shut down the site by contacting them, their parents, the school or the server. Or a C&D notice scared them off. Either way, I think it's the last we'll hear from this mutton-headed jackoff.
