What is it with the whole thing with kirk's ripped shirt making him uber or something?
Know that I've watched nearly all of TOS, so maybe it's cause i missed an episode or something. Maybe. Anyway, why is it?
The ripped shirt of Kirk
Moderator: Vympel
Watch again VERY closely...Kirk gets into fights and while engaging in Kirk Fu, more often than not RIPS HIS SHIRT, it usually hangs off his shoulder or even just hangs in tatters at his waist. When this happens its like drawing blood from bruce Lee in a Kung Fu flick...you know much as skicking is coming.

I think its because when you rip his shirt you see his embarrassing man tits and he doesn't like to be embarrassed in front of the nymphomaniac alien princess before her tragic death.
