Cartoons

Post by Rob Wilson »

I recently upgraded the TV services I get, and amonst the huge slew of channels were the kiddies ones. So I sat down for a surf and fuck me if there aren't some good cartoons out there.

I hated the first season of X-men devolution, but the 2nd series is growing on me.

Jackie Chan Adventures : Dear god this could have sucked huge ass (and maybe the first few did), but I caught it around episode 5 and it's great. Not award winning maybe, but still really funny and better than a lot of 'proper' tv programmes (hey look continuity and characters).

Invader Zim : ROTFLMAO, fucking funny shit. :D

Samurai Jack : Weird, but fun.

The English dub of Outlaw Starr : I heard that CN cut it to fuck in the US, but on CNX it seems to be intact. Not sure about the voice actress for Sazuka, but not bad all the same.

The English dub of Cowboy bebop : What the Fuck did they do to Jet Black??? When did Huggy Bear become the owner of the Bebop?

Gundam Wing : DIE bishounen yaio! DIE, DIE, DIE. Ooooooo pretty robots, much carnage. DIE Bishounen Yaio, Die! :D

and tons of old favourites as well DANGERMOUSE!!!. 8)

It came out passably well.

Gundam Wing : DIE bishounen yaio! DIE, DIE, DIE. Ooooooo pretty robots, much carnage. DIE Bishounen Yaio, Die! :D

Try G Gundam. It can kick the shit out of Wing any day.

And my own to add:

They FINALLY showed Char's Counterattack! It's about fucking time!!!!

Dexter's Lab and Ed, Edd, and Eddy: both are funny as shit.

I actually liked the first season although it took me awhile to aquire that taste. Still, the second season is better. I really like it when they show much more than the core group of students.

I don't see much of it lately but it's a really fun show. My parents like to watch it and actually see it more often than I do.

Uncle's "One more thing" catch phrase reminds me a lot of a guy I work with but unfortunately none of the other people I work with get the reference.

Ahh Dangermouse. And of course the spinoff Count Duckula. How much do I love those cartoons?

And yes it is increably anime stylish inculding great lines

You have to see to understand Epsoide 3's great last line

X-men Evolution: For me eh...but better than the bastardization they tried with the older series...at least this one is a tangent.

Jackie Chan Adventures : For your reasons and I like the big fat guy :)

Invader Zim : you said it all...

Samurai Jack : You have to see the chicken episode...that cemented it for me

The English dub of Cowboy bebop : I like it, but I can see your point...ah well at least it's better than 99% of dubbing that exists...and for some reason English Faye sounds more sultry

Gundam Wing : I'd have to agree with ya

As for Iggy...they FINALLY showed Char's Counter-Attack...before ZETA?!

Ah well I can see it being done, and not too much "Huh and wha?!" but ah well still cool, and yes G Gundam is better...and funnier to boot.

And Dangermouse...if only I can get that on DVD somehow....ah Penfold.

and tons of old favourites as well DANGERMOUSE!!! .

Samurai Jack is one of the few great, successful attempts that America has had at emulating anime.

When they are casually referencing things from the first season in the third season, you know the writers actually care about what they are writing.

Also for other stuff...what has happened to Transformers?

How the hell they devolve into this bizarre Gen 2 stuff and Armada crap?!

Well I only ever saw the first few Cartoons of Transformers when I was young, and when they had a dumb Grimlock I just switched off. I had the Comics and they were better. The Beast Wars cartoons seem quite good (seen the first couple so far) pity the toys sucked, RID is fucking stupid and I think they hired the monkeys that failed the Voiyager writers aptitude test for Armada. :(

THANK YOU! :D

As for Transformers...yeah never liked Grimlock too much or any of the Dinobots...and seriously the amount of times they would go from Godlike to puny was too many.

I liked the comics at some point more than others(liked the British version more than the American)

Though later on(armada...and such...sorry saw an episode and felt my brain dying)...and sorry the DW revival is nothing more than flashy drawings.
