Lexx info?

Post by Oni Koneko Damien »

Okay, years ago, I off-and-on watched Lexx. Unfortunately, I wasn't very interested then, and it's only now, after the show is over, but not out on DVD, I realized how much I loved it.

I've read through the stickies, esp. the Popular Series FAQ, and while it is brought up, there was no links made to any information sites about Lexx.

So I'm asking, are there any good sites covering the Lexx-verse? Or will I be stuck with Wiki?

There's Lexxplorations, and the Sadgeezer guide to LEXX.

Just type those into a search engine and you'll find them.

Actually, LEXX did come out on DVD, in the US even. You can get the second and third seasons in complete sets (although S3 is very expensive) while Season Four is divided into two 3-disc packs, while Season One appears to be a bitch to find thanks to being out of print.

S1 is really 4 movies, that introduce and build up the LEXX saga, and then wrap up everything just in case a series wasn't made afterwards, although there was one loose thread left over for a continuation.

Ghetto Edit: My mistake, Season Two is the expensive one; twice as much as Season Three.

I always had a soft spot for the show, due to how bizarre, brazenly cheap, and unabashedly goofy it was.

I loved it for the fact that it was one long, interconnected sexual innuendo.

Geez, are there still people who think the Lexx is supposed to be a big d*ck?! It's a freaking Dragonfly!

I loved it for being the North American Red Dwarf, and especially for getting Craig Charles on the show.

If you hop over to youtube somone is actually uploading all the lex episodes from the first movies to the end of season 4. He is currently about 3/4 of the way through season 2. Its not the best way to watch it, but is certainly the cheapest. When I get home I'll see if I can get a link.

And if you thought the LEXX itself was the only sexual innuendo in the show, I would have to kick you for being so dense. Yeah, some of it is blatantly obvious, but the fun part is searching for the much subtler stuff buried in each episode.

The plant..........................

I think it was that episode where the plant regenerated, and mind you, this is the censored edition they show on mainstream tv here that hit my teacher that I was watching something that was a tad too adult for my young tender years.

Oh yeah, the rest of the show having sexual stuff, of course. I just shake my head at everyone for thinking of the Lexx as big man-thing, when it's a bug to fit in with the insect theme of LEXX.

So... bulbous end with two ball-ish structures. Long stiff shaft. Yep. Dragonfly. Just a dragonfly, that's all. Move on, gentlemen...

*shrugs* I've got a rather suggest-able mind, and my first thought was 'yeah, that's a huge fucking dragonfly', and shortly after came the, 'But I see how some people would see it as something else.'

The thing is the show has almost as much of an insectile/reptilian/generally non-human theme as it does a sexual theme, so it's pretty damn easy to go either way.

...oh, and either my computer's being a prick about it, or the Sadgeezer's LEXX site is no longer up.

I think it's the latter as Lexxplorations is running fine.

Sadgeezer's site has been down for at least a year, though you should be able to access most of the pages via Google's cache.

One thing that I particularly loved was that it turns out humanity was enslaved and ruled for millenia by a giant Rollie-Pollie.

Only way it could've been better is if it was a Cockroach.
