Not in ... THE ARENA! I don't think you even get to use your fists in Arena fights, from memory.

You can get to fists with the sheath-weapon key. Only the next-weapon/previous-weapon commands are disabled.

Got the LOTR mod a few days ago and have been enjoying it. Jousting in the new arena is fun. Still waiting for the war to start, though.

Where the hell has this game been all my life ?

Its awesome, I was accidentally up till two in the morning playing this game.

I can't believe I hung around the first town so long, I wandered off to a nearby castle and idly entered the arena.

I have to say though, is it too much to ask that as an archer you get a dagger or something for when those swordsmen are trying to violate you ?

I think if you're equipped with a bow you should be given a one-handed sword or axe of some sort to defend yourself, being a foot-archer in the arena is so un-fun/ asking to die I immediately quit out and reload till I get something else.

I'm up to Day 75 or so and have Reinforced Black Armor and Reinforced Black Greaves- all I need now is a Reinforced Black Helmet and Reinforced Gauntlets (are there black gauntlets? I've never seen them) and I'm set- to find the same for Manrid and Borcha

All you have to do is immediately shoot one of the enemy horsemen off his mount then get on it yourself, while dodging enemy melee troops!

Or just use your teammates - if it's one on one, and you've got a bow, you win instantly. In the 4v4v4v4 matches I like being a bowman - you run up the ramp thing, order your guys to hold position, and shoot horsemen in the head while they're too busy attacking your dudes.

Still absolutely no excuse for a backup weapon, of course. This is another of those 'identified years ago' problems.
