"Pirates" CCG
Does anyone else here play the "Pirates" card game? Y'know, the one where you punch out the ships from the cards and assemble them and play tabletop? I just started building a deck myself and was wondering what nations others on here were playing and advice on good ships I can find.

On the subject of card based fleet battle games, I'd like to recommend Light Speed from Cheapass Games. It's very quick to play, fun and surprisingly subtle. Plus once your gaming group is familiar with it it's easy to make your own ships to liven things up. We always play it using steak knives to determine lines of sight, for added menace. It's very cheap to buy, so you have little to lose by giving it a go.

Pass, thanks for trying to derail my thread though.Starglider wrote:snip
I've started to build a pretty decent fleet through Ebay, it's actually cheaper because Packs cost $4, Boxes cost at least $10, and I suffer the risk of getting repeats because i've bought a few of them already. So i'm rounding out the rest of my Cursed fleet for about 50-75 cents each.
Addendum: 2 ships per pack plus crew and Island cards, 7 ships per box plus crew and Island. So every ship I get for under a dollar is a nice deal for me. Although I have managed to pull a few rare cards from packs.

Just got back from a comic shop North of me where a Wizkids rep actually works. I'm currently attempting to build a Cursed fleet and so far it's quite impressive, with my Pirate fleet secondary. I finally collected enough Ocean's Edge packs to send in to get the Pirate Ship "Zeus", which is a massive 10 Mast Junk.

My friends and I are joking about the last resting place of credit cards when discussing this game.
(slight derail, sorry)
there is also a star wars game announced using the same system

I have way to many ships, at some point I'll probably try to eBay them.
wizkids may not produce quality miniatures, but I do like playing their games regardless.

I actually played a full game last night and absolutely destroyed my brother's small British fleet with my own Cursed fleet. All seaworthy vessels beware the Flying Dutchman!
