Does anyone know the burning temperature of both?

The answer to that is highly dependent on the fuel-air ratio. I think typical internal combustion engines see temperatures around 1100K. Jet engines usually see around 1800K at the turbine inlet, but that's a materials limited issue.

Wikipedia has this for jet fuel (which is pretty much kerosene).

IIRC, they also used JP7 in the hydraulics system and as a heat sink. The fuel included so many different ingredients that it was more expensive than single-malt scotch.
Oh, and dousing lit stuff is not unique to JP7; my uncle used to douse his cigarettes in a bucket full of diesel fuel.
