When Dorkstar was here this board groaned under the weight of his UTTER BULLSHIT and more than one debator here came near to getting ulcers from dealing with his Wall of Ignorance tm. (Poor Ossus) I for one am GLAD he's gone and NEVER want to see him back. Or do we want to return to the days when nearly every thread revolved around Dorkstar and his UTTER BULLSHIT???

I would guess 1/3 to 1/2 of threads have at least one reference to him and alot of threads still revolve around him.

Before he was banned, I was reluctant to support such a movement. I didn't think that the board would get much better if he was banned, and I suspected that he would be replaced by another just like him. I was also worried that the rabid-Trekkies outside the forum would use his banning to claim that SD.net was clamping down on "opposition" movements. After his banning, though, none of that materialized. The board came under no additional fire; the quality of discussion increased; the threads no longer revolved solely around rebutting his worthless claims. I am now glad that we did ban him, and believe that if anything we waited too long to do so. I do not think he should be reinstated to the board, at least until he can clearly demonstrate he has seen the error in his ludicrous debating methods.

I believe that Arminius was eventually banned. In any case, DarkStar is enduring a banishment from the board because he simply would not stop his attempts to infect the board with his stupidity.

Arminius was actually banned twice. He showed up around October with another account after his first was banned and he was quicky banned again.

What are you ok. Has his wall of ignorance taken you. A man who would not listen to simple logic while still repeating his claims(only longer) would not add to this baord. Normally, I'd say not to ban anybody, as I like to see everyone get a fair shake. But I'll have to vote "NO" to reinstating Darkstar. That is because he doesn't debate. It's one thing to play be ignorant or use faulty logic. Those are the kinds of mistakes normal debaters make.

But Darkstar is poison to the entire process of debate, because he takes it to the next level; he simply lies. If you look at his arguments, compare them to each other, see where he shamelessly contradicts himself or misrepresents the evidence, you will see that it is impossible to hold a worthwhile debate with him.

He lies, he continually insists that his particular interpretation of evidence is the evidence, and he simply ignores anything he doesn't like. There is nothing to be gained from dealing with that dumb-fuck; we're talking about a guy who's trying to scream "victim" right now because I caught him stealing my fucking server bandwidth!

If we want stupid RSA quotes, we should just wait for him to update his website some more. MoO's critique pages contain lots of hilarious quotes already (the bit about converting GW per second into kilowatt-hours was particularly hilarious).
