The sim whore is IN (game arranging page)

Post by weemadando »

OK, so I'm set up in Melbourne with a significantly faster net connection, kept my PC, got a new joystick and am rearing to go.

Sim gaming is my thing at the moment and I've finally also got il-2 1946. Also, I have Theatre of War (downloaded and am waiting for my DVD copy) and Close Combat: Cross of Iron.

I've also got Wings Over Europe/Wings Over Vietnam combined install (need to discuss best addons for this - the RAAF Macchi one is AWESOME) and am hanging out for EE:CH2.

In the mean time I have every other helicopter sim bar Team: Apache, Longbow 1&2 and the original HinD.

Actually - we need to all get onboard and play a big combined arms game of M1A2 Tank Platoon and Gunship! That would be awesome.

OK. My little rant is finished, but if anyone in Australia (or elsewhere) is up for having a nice little fly this weekend (probably Sunday) in il2 or going a round or four in Theatre of War of CC:COI, then I'm up for that too. As long as I'm not playing STALKER. WOOO!

I'm waiting for ToW to come out in stores. They always do.

In the meantime, I'll say that the full retail version is all kinds of awesome.

I'd be up for IL2 on sunday. I'm in the UK, so hopefully we could find an apropriate time. Do you have Commanche vs Hokum? That could be fun too.

I do have Comanche vs Hokum and Apache vs Havoc, but I had a weird error with my old joystick where it would always flip over. I'll have to try it again - but I don't have my manual with me which means you'd just win by default...

For WoV, the Yankee Air Pirate addon seems to be the way to go. Of course, there's also the excellent F-19 and A-5A Vigilante addons for WoE by yours truly, available on CombatAce.com.

I would offer to join you, but my joysticks packed it in so I would make even easier pickings than usual for a seasoned sim-whore. I also don't have Theatre of War yet... so I guess I may as well have not bothered posting.

Someone really needs to do a re-make of Hind though, my personal favourite chopper.

What would also be really cool is to play a massive combined arms SD.net game of Armed Assault with a custom map. You can have some really cool maps like improvising a defence of a village against a large enemy AI force, with some armour and air vehicles coming in for backup later.

Wow, I totally forgot that I own both Commanche/Hokum and Apache/Havoc.

It sucked that they didn't make better cockpits for Apache/Havoc when C/H came out, though.

That would be pretty cool. I've been wanting Armed Assualt but I played the demo a while back and it ran like ass, and my computer is no slouch.

There are mods I think that add some decent 3d Cockpits for the Apache/Havoc.

I have those games... but I find it kind of lame that if you lock on to a helo or even a jet with a laser guided missile it will hit just about every single time. The easy to evade Stingers and Strelas are useless air to air in comparison.

Would Great Leader approve of a M1A2 Tank Platoon 2 & Gunship! co-op game?

Or perhaps we should all just hop on for a T-72 Balkans on Fire game?

Who owns Gunship!

Certainly no one with taste. :P

I have T-72- not installed on this machine, however.

Gunship! was awesome simply because you could integrate it with M1A2 - and you could fly a Havoc, a Tiger, Apache or the Westland made Apache.
