That sounds like a plan to me!

I would definitely support that. As it is, you can't modify strategies in 1.33. Which is just... not good. Not good at all.

I'd like to join if there is anymore room in the game.

But a note, If you are using a non-stock shipset, You have to upload it onto PBW. You also have to do this Before you submit your empire. Right now on PBW the folowing shipsets have been uploaded: Both of The Federation Shipsets, The Klingon Shipset, The Colonials Shipset (older version), and the Jrii race shipset.

I have Permision from the Author of the Cylon and Colonial shipset to update it to PBW; I also have permision for the Imperial's Shipset. But Speaking from experience, some of you might have to resubmit your empire...

I'm BattlestarCommander.

There won't be a limit of players, just of time before we start, so come on in! Looks like we might be able to get 8+ people for this one.

I knew about the PBW ship set issue, but I assumed that all the ship sets had been uploaded already into the stock and mod folders. There are so few ship sets and so few mods it doesn't seem like it would be that hard. How do we submit a ship set for upload onto PBW?

Well its proper to get the authors permision first:
Here, I'm kind of obbsessed with this game, and I'll talk to the authors and see how many I can get to let me upload. I think there are about 14? shipsets out....

The shipsets don't have to be uploaded to PBW. Just that everybody has to have said shipsets. The empire names and everything don't even have to match on PBW. PBW is just to autoexecute the turns. I don't even think the passwords have to match, just the master password.

Since we're coordinating on SDN, all that needs to be done is links given by all the players once the game starts, to all the shipsets. Forget the middle man, why make it harder than it is.

That's the way it worked in SEVIV, but here it's different. If the host (PBW in this case) doesn't have a ship set, it will permanently replace that player's ship set with a randomly picked stock one.

Well shit nuggets. Guess you are right ColonialAdmiral I'm a tard lol.

It's a good thing we're using PBW too, waiting for 10+ people to execute with e-mail wouldn't work at all.

Worst comes to worst, you could always manually process but I don't think that's a good idea.

Just more races for Kirk to fuck with . The player number's got to be upped we're 7/8 already.

Player limit upped to 12.

Crap, and I forgot to upload the Ur-Quan shipset to the PBW site. :(

BTW, we going to have RP in this game? I'd suggest we have a voluntary RP thread, like in our previous games.

I think we should hold off on RP for the first ten turns or so. There's no point doing something really elaborate and ditching it after umpteen false starts. Besides after 10 turns we can do an established empire kind of RP. RPing "three piece of shit planets gets teleported to another galaxy" gets lame after awhile.

Well, PBW isn't accepting the files, the page doesnt exist or something. Be patient, I'm trying to find an admin or somebody who knows whats going on. If you want to try yourself, I've got permission to upload the Cylons, N'grath, and latest version of the colonials.

Thanks.

It's good to respect the authors of the ship sets, but is permission really necessary? What possible reason could someone have for not wanting their sets to be used on PBW?

Shipsets are meant to be used after all, as long as you don't steal them as your own work.

I for one, am going to use a slightly modified Colonial set. With my own flag/portraits. It should be kosher anyway.

I guess. The site just says it's good etiquette. I've got permision from every one except the guy who made the romulans, but atrocities probably wont care. Just go ahead and try and upload them, I'm still not having much luck :D

Ok, get the shipset downloaded. Then you just need to zip it up. Then, once you log into PBW, go to the button in the corner that says Mods and shipsets or something like that, and then Go to SEV shipsets. Finaly at the bottum of that page is a form. Just fill out the description and the name, then set the file path to the .zip folder, and vioula, its uploaded :D It's still not working for me, but it could be something to do with my computer...
Oh and for the revision number, The n'grath is 1.2, the cylons are 2.0, the ur-quan is 1.0 (I think) and the romulans are 1.0. The colonials on PBW are an older version, But Isopyco still calls the final version 2.5 for some reason...

Rejoyce, Children of Nod! For our time of Ascension has come! As I have foretold, the tower the Visitors left in the mediterranean is the key. A gateway to the stars, and the true Land of Nod!

Rejoyce, Brothers! For at last my plan nears fruition. We have taken the tools of warfare from our hated GDI oppressors! We have reshaped them with the Technology of Peace! And now, we shall embrace destiny!

Rejoyce, Comrades! Ascension is upon us!

Peace through Power!

Commander, I want you now to fashion a 2000 point empire. Do it, do not question. Now go. (lifts hand)

So we're holding off until the next patch?

I'm hoping SEV is a bit more stable now.

For some reason the balance mod does not work on my game. Basically it says it cannot find "weapon damage type" when I start it. Also whats PBW because I am interested in joining.

Make sure you have the latest version of SE V. If all else fails, an uninstall + reinstall should fix pretty much anything. PBW is a website that automatically hosts the game, runs and distributes the turns. Playing without it is simply uncivilized.

The next patch is supposed to be out this coming week, so there's no sense starting now and then having to upgrade right away. If it's delayed, we'll start sooner.

SE V seems pretty stable to me now. There are still bugs and unimplemented features, of course, but most things seem to work OK. Not at all like the first SE V game we had.

I've pulled out and rejoined so I can upload the Ur-Quan shipset this time. Sorry about the annoyance, Tux.

Neph, have you made a Brotherhood of Nod shipset? If so, that's the most awesome thing ever. I've wanted to make one for some time but my lack of anything resembling the neccessary skills prevented me from doing so.
