A friend of mine has a wolf as a pet (75% timber wolf, 25% mexican desert wolf, if I remember right), and though she's a bit more tame than Maya and Wiley in your uncle's shoot above, she still reinforces that she's certainly not a dog.

I've been thinking more about getting one lately, since the more I am around my friend's wolf, the more I would feel honored to have one (or three) as companions.

They certainly are beautiful animals but I would not dare keep one as a pet, not with the kids around.

It's no problem sharing the link, my uncle is an awesome photographer and I love to show off his work

You'd likely have to get an exotic animal permit and find someone who has a wolf pup available to raise. I doubt you'd be able to do much with a full grown wolf.

No I think an adult wolf from the wild would be to feral to do anything with.

Why would you do this when you could have one of the more wolf-like dog breeds, which has been bred to be able to handle captivity, connect with humans and be safe around kids? It's a huge amount of extra hassle and it probably sucks for the animal for no gain other than the perceived coolness factor.

I think the most domesticated "wolves" are half or less than half wolf/husky breeds. They have amazing eyes and are as tame as a husky, just need to run them a lot.

Yup, I've always said if we ever get a dog it'll be a sheepdog or a husky but they would both have to be babies so they could grow with the kids and not attack them

My family always had cats so no I'm not used to dogs at all
