Wrong. We can show why he's wrong. For example, he made an ass out of himself by claiming that "gigawatts per second" makes sense because it's like "kilowatt-hours". Or even better: his belief that 35mm film means the focal length of the camera lens is fixed at 35mm, as if there's no such thing as a zoom lens. There are objective, rational, scientific reasons for concluding that he's a blithering idiot.

You're one of his few supporters, right? I'll assume you missed the insults he directed at Mr. Wong. If it was my site, I would have banned him eternally for what he said.

I'm not involved in versus debates on any regular basis whatsoever, but I find Darkstar's lack of coherent logic, blatantly faulty science, incredibly sketchy evidence, bone-hard conclusions and total lack of scientific comprehension an insult per se.

The one time I did discuss with him, he didn't appear totally unreasonable, but he displayed an amazing lack of insight and knowledge, and he never really accepted any other view than his own. I can only assume he's drawing his conclusions from the few pieces of evidence he's actually noticing, and then stick to his conclusion with total disregard for any contrary evidence. In fact, it appears to me that he only sticks harder to his own ideas the more they are shot down. I've met and discussed with only one other person like that. I belive he was treated with the final solution by many on ASVS.

Stubbornness can be a positive thing, but not when you're going against evidence, logic and science. Note that I haven't even mentioned sci-fi until now.

I would not oppose an unbanning of Darkstar. I had a great deal of fun dancing circles around that simpering loon as he let loose with his windbaggery. He truly was a poster who followed the dictum of quantity over quality, and I enjoyed throwing his small-mindedness back into his face.

Now, I wasn't here when Dickstar was infecting this board, but I lurked SD.net WAY before that. I watched as Mr. Wong set up the BBS forums way back in summer 2002. And I saw DarkStar's moronic comments and shameless emittances of "dipshit" and "pussy" and thought, No that donkeyfucking crybaby who doesn't give a damn about his physics class (if he ever had one) has to stay banned.
