It's unclear whether he's dead or not. He definitely falls, but it can be the force of the blow if the arrow didn't penetrate all the way...
I don't see a problem. No matter how strong a material, maybe it's woven like some sort of kevlar mesh or whatever, and some piercing attacks may go thru it (not necessarily bladed weapons). That, and the fact that this is supposed to be extremely light armor (not Stormtrooper armor).
Yes, there's only ONE arrow (that makes DarkStar wrong in any case). Was this thread just about the second arrow then? Yeah, it means that DarkStar is clearly delusional and seeing what he wants to see.
I wonder what Mike's opinion about the arrow is...

We seen an arrow bounce off a scout trooper shoulder pauldron. The whole thing is much-ado about nothing. Darkstar deploys blurry, washed out visuals where you can't discern anything, and a frigging costume goof (cracked shoulder pauldron on stormie in one scene) to argue that stormtrooper armor is no good. It's his typical bullshit.I don't see a problem. I can see the arrow that Darkstar has highlighted

DipShit must think stormtroopers are born into their armor, and they don't actually put it on. You can see the calf armor strain at the seams when the stormtroopers run at the beginning of ANH, when they chase the Rebs down the T4 hallways.
Yes, but what you can't see is where it penetrated.Gandalf wrote:I can see the arrow that Darkstar has highlighted

Sorry bout that, I thought people were going nuts due to lack of an arrow

How is a costume goof any different from a SFX goof, or a dialogue goof or any other goof for that matter in the course of a audio-visual media such as a movie or tv series? Memories serves, visuals are greater canon than dialogue in this place, or am I mistaken?Vympel wrote:

I always thought dialogue took precedence

In ROTJ there was a costume error that had all Imperials as the same rank contrary to the rest of the films. Is that canon?Northern Huntsman wrote:

Now TIEs can cloak, because we saw a shadow of a 4th tie when 3 were shown.
And because we see some weird reflection when Han is running out of the bunker, that could be a personel shield the crew is wearing. Chewie is a cyborg because when he picks up threepios head in ESB, you see a reflection of what looks like a camera and for some weird reason a boom mike shown.
Wars medical equipment is so good that it can function when it is not hooked up, like how it was backwards on Vader's chest in ANH.
And lightsabres have a solid metal core to them that appears out of no where like we saw in Kenobi's during the DS fight.
Plus our Corellian corvettes can change size in mid flight, so they will just shrink out of the way everytime Trek tries to target them.
And now Warp drive is impossible without somekind of strange string like material shooting off the ship like in TOS.

Oh, I'm not debating the more "incredible" problems, I'm just debating the lesser problems. There must be a point at which things are viewed as canon and not as they "should be", or else one could simply rewrite Imperial Tactics and Firepower, or even Trek Tactics and Firepower how they see fit.Vympel wrote:In ROTJ there was a costume error that had all Imperials as the same rank contrary to the rest of the films. The Enterprise model was mounted to a rod from the bottom of the engineering hull.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Just joking around really. If you look hard you notice that the shoulder pauldron has a crack for like 1 second. I don't see how it's any different from a buggered up costume. We know that those costumes are really only made from plastic, just like the rocks the Ewoks are throwing at them from above in one scene.Northern Huntsman wrote: Oh, I'm not debating the more "incredible" problems, I'm just debating the lesser problems. How far do we take it?
Oh pish pishExcept there were no strings.

The problem with Darkstar's evidence is that he's altered it. Look at the video clip that Slarti posted... immediately in the background of the trooper that was "hit" by an arrow, we see a bush waving back and forth. Its branches are pointed upwards. In single screen caps, the arrow gets lost among the background branches. Darkstar obviously noticed that, and then made an arbitrary red line coming from the trooper's back. Since the red line dominates the view, he has, effectively, deleted the arrow from view.
