If you really want to obviously you have time to register as a Democrat for the Presidential primaries. Obviously that doesn't somehow prevent you from voting for candidates other than the Democrats in the general election.

My theory is gun nuts define themselves in terms of their guns. They see their guns as a part of themselves, crucial to their very definition of self, of manhood. The idea that some of the bigger and more powerful guns might be restricted must seem to them like the government forcing you to use a smaller penis, or taking it away entirely.

If this guy becomes President it just might restore my faith in humanity.

He's got my vote. I like Hillary and all, but I'm put off by her pandering to the religious right. It's nice to see a no-bullshit assessment of religion in politics from a politician rather than the usual wishy-washy bullshit.

There's no doubt in my mind right now that Obama is my vote, even prior to this statement here. I wouldn't say he's perfect (no one is), and maybe his lack of experience will be a hinderance, though I think it could also come to be a strength in certain ways. In any event, I may just have to change my voting card to Dem for the primarys if I can get around to it.

Briefly reading through Obama's issues on his campaign site, I think I'm hooked.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Yeah, except he gave the speech almost a year ago.
DAMMIT! So basically I should have been hooked by him sooner. :P

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

He already was my favorite long before I read this.

In a way, I find the American presidential elections more important than our own elections
