When I lurk, unregistered, on spacebattles, I always found Ubiqtorate posts fascinating.

Thats good, but why then have so many individuals completely missed my point and continue to insist that Intergalactic War is the ONLY debate?
Because it is the most definitive, and exciting. Debates about diplomatic relations between different hegemonies can be an interesting thought experiment, but ultimately, it is impossible to accurately judge exactly who would "win" in such an encounter.

Imagine:

"A Bothan senator debates a Federation council member about the use of currency: Who wins?"

Pray tell, what evidence can be brought to the table in that exchange? What proof? What sources? Such a thread would garner three replies, at best:

Post #1. "I think the Bothan wins."

Post #2. "I think the Feddie council member wins."

Post #3. "Whatever. Hey, look, someone just opened a new Enterprise vs. Star Destroyer thread! Let's go!"

In other words, the Intergalactic War is the ONLY debate because it's the only thing we CAN debate.

It's also bloody fun- and encompasses every single minor aspect- including the single GCS versus ISD scenario that you seem to have a hang up about.

Ubiqtorate, thats far too many big words for the average Trekkie to understand.

Huntsman,

You apparantly think we should be nice to DarkStar. I'm beginning to come to that conclusion, because it's always better to be nice to the completely fucking insane. In the meantime, perhaps you should learn about what you preach.

Darkstar/G2k/Robert has

1) Spammed this board with 17+ page threads of him refusing to conceed even the most basic point, eating up Mike's bandwidth.

2) Insulted multiple denizens of this board, ASVS, and Spacebattles.

3) Slandered many of the same denizens on his site.

4) Insulted the principles of science.

5) Been abusive to multiple individuals, including myself and Mike.

6) Stole bandwidth from Mike.

7) Gone on to attack Mike's personal life.

Do I really have to go on? Or have you gotten the point that this guy deserves everything we throw at him, because he has shown himself to be the lowest common denominator. He's the guy who is responsible for the warning label 'Do not place hands or genitals on chain' on chainsaws.

I just mention it because that's the classic scenario.

No, I'm not. Now debate and don't resort to namecalling.
Translation = "Oh, you're flaming. That means I'm right."
Do you even know what versus means? I'm envisioning you going to a boxing match, looking at the "Tyson vs. Foreman" or whatever sign, and going inside expecting them to recite poetry to each other while throwing flowers all around the ring.
What you envision and what I type are two completely different things apparently.
Except that they're not.
The saying that "the majority of X is Y" is GENERALIZING? do you know what majority means? It's a verifiable figure, not something pulled out of somebody's ass. If I say "all europeans are bigots", THAT is generalizing. Note that he didn't say "ALL trekkies", which is kinda the magic word for generalizing.
If I said "The majority of Warsis are are idiots", I doubt there wouldn't be any objections on this board.
Of course not, as long as you provide hard numbers. But you couldn't anyway, since saying the word "idiot" is not appropriate behavior for a lady.
Damn you're stoopid.
Exactly the kind of attitude that makes this environment more-than hostile.
No, you're actually demonstrating that you're stupid. I'm just stating a fact, which you keep proving as true.
