He will soon meet his comeuppance when whatever undoubtedly hideous monster he's inbreeding underground escapes and devours its sinister creator.

All medieval European depictions of Adam and Eve show them both being white. This is a tradition that started back when they thought blacks were little better than animals. It's interesting that it continues among Christian fundamentalists to this day.

The CBC interviewed the sister creation museum that opened in Alberta today. I don't have a link because it was one of those filler news stories on CBC Newsworld, so there's no written article.

Basically it went like this. The CBC reporter of course, had to tread the line about how he respects the creation guy's opinion (or else the guy wouldn't have agreed to talk on camera at all.) Then the CBC reporter brought up a nearby museum which had scientific exhibits of dinosaurs and humans living millions of years apart. He also brought up the fact that school children were taught radically differently than what the museum taught. The reporter was reasonable, while the creation museum curator sounded like a loon, wailing about indoctrination for the past 150 years and how the scientists haven't come down to see it (well it's the first fucking day you dick, what did you give then prescreening passes and they didn't come, small surprise they wouldn't want to waste their time.)

Then the reporter mentioned that 99% of scientists don't agree with his theories. I was half expecting the curator to lie and say that many scientists believed in creationism, but instead he went on about his conspiracy theory.

The reporter let the guy rant himself out, then he said he was looking forward to scientists debating the guy on the museum's front door.

So basically the reporter made the creationist look unreasonable, like a raving loon. I always thought it would be hard to make a creationist look like a fool, especially since oral debates are charisma and you can easily lie and not get caught until later, but the guy looked like he had anger management issues. If that is the best creationists have, I don't see it getting mainstream acceptance in Canada, ever.

I love how they make it sound like all dinosaurs were carnivorous.

Really? I'd've thought it'd have more to do with the fact that they were medieval Europeans and so painted with models and looks that they were familiar with. It's not exactly like they had first century Jews on hand to stand in as models after all.

Honestly, would you attribute it to racism that in this painting everyone's portrayed in medieval European costume with European architecture in the background? Or is it similarly racist that in all the medieval European images I've seen, Judas is also a European white guy? Surely a racist would have made sure to depict him as being black or such. Is it also similarly racist that the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe depicts a Mary who is an indigenous person, or that Our Lady of La Vang looks Vietnamese, or Our Lady of China appearing Chinese (with a similar appearing Jesus in the latter two)?

I'm also curious as to when, where, and among who the idea that blacks were little better than animals started.

They all sleepwalked onto Ark: elephants, T-Rexes, Brontosauruses, lions, wolves…you name it.
Techncially, as noted in the museum itself, the dinos all died and did not board the ark, so this is a bit strawmany, and I have sadly heard other people trying to disprove the ark throw in the dinosaurs to elevate the point.

It doesn't make the point invalid, of course, just trying to be accurate.

The sad thing is I used to believe my immediate family was relatively moderate. In lifestyle, they mostly are, but the creation museum is a fantastic listing of what they truly believe and what I was raised with. I know a lot of people on this board can't concieve of anything but the most radical of fundies believing in this crap, but it's far more common than people realize.

Well, then they are perverting what the bible says, doing the very thing that they say will destroy the world. It explicity says "every beast after his kind" (KJV Gen 7:14) went into the ark. Stone the heathens :!:

::scratch head:: Answersingenesis agrees with you. So what the hell does a "dinos on the ark" believing Christian say happened to them post flood?

Probably that they were the first to die and that quickly solved the problem concerning lack of food for all the other animals.

Yes, I know its retarded. Consider who we're talking about.
