NOTE FOR PARENTS: This is one of the scariest episodes of Doctor Who yet. The whole family agree that it is simply brilliant, and all four Fear Forecasters really enjoyed being so frightened while watching it together with mum and dad. The parents suggest that, if you're concerned, then tape the episode, and watch it with children during the daytime, or, at least, a long time before bedtime.
(0) It's only just started, yet Harry can't believe what he's seeing. Samuel has a wicked glint in his eye, and is obviously getting ideas.
(1) Samuel: "Can I swap and sit next to dad?"
(2) "What a good opening," says Samuel.
(3) Harry and Amy look perplexed. Samuel's eyes hurt.
(4) The whole family are amused.
(6) "This is getting spooky," whispers Harry.
(7) Amy is wide eyed.
(10) The kids tense...
(11) Harry lets out a yell! "Look!" Adam: "Run for it!" Samuel: "No! It's a trap!"
(13) Harry frowns, desperately trying to work out what's going on.
(14) Dad laughs. Adam grins.
(15) Harry's intrigued.
(17) The kids freeze again.
(18) "Oh that's scary!" breathes Samuel
(19) A big laugh from the kids.
(20) The kids look very worried. Samuel has to change seats.
(21) "No, don't do it!" urges Harry.
(24) The kids are shocked. Dad looks scandalised.
(27) "This is getting seriously weird," decides Harry. Adam's sad. "It's coming," says Samuel ominously...
(28) The kids fall silent.
(29) The kids grin at the Doctor's cleverness.
(33) The kids all jump out of their seats! Harry covers his face with his hands. Samuel clutches dad.
(34) Harry runs out of the room! Adam chews his shirt collar.
(35) Harry and Amy watch through a crack in the door. Adam and Samuel are frozen.
(36) Harry breathes a sigh of relief .
(37) "This is funny!" grins Adam. Then his smile fades...
(39) The kids go "Awwww!"
(40) Harry's delighted. Samuel gives a little cheer.
(41) "This is brilliant," mutters Harry. Samuel heaves a huge sigh of relief.
(42) Something dawns on the kids as the episode concludes...
The bloody hellfire? How can an ep get five point five?. This had bloody well be scary, it has to make up for the fact the Doc barely appears in it

Soo.. what was the Fear Factor for "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances"?
Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

The angelic look statues with their hands clasped on their eyes seen in the trailer creeped me out (although they could be victims of a Medusa style creature)...
I didn't find "The Empty Child" really that scary and I wouldn't say it was scary in general for most grown adults, although I can understand very young children would find it terrifying, since under eights are much more sensitive to tension and suspense (often linked to the music).
Fear Factor specifically rates how scary it is to a panel of children. And yes, the trailer looked like it was something that'd scare children.
