Your favorite comedy movie/s.
I would go with Montey Pythons Holy Grail, Austin Powers series, and Super Troopers. Super Troopers was one of those "funny cause it's stupid" movies.
Be at peace with yourself. Enjoy life.

My roommate has that poster on the wall above his bed. I see it every morning when I wake up.Kelly Antilles wrote:The movie that defined a decade....
Ferris Beuler's Day Off.
LEISURE RULES!!!
My picks would be Kelly's Heroes, Monty Python's Holy Grail, and Christmas Vacation.

Re: Your favorite comedy movie/s.
Where to start? Do we go with Oldies like Some like it Hot, Operation Petticoat, Calamity Jane, Sleeper, Cat ballou, Duck Soup, Pink Panther/ Strikes again/ Shot in the dark/Return of, Murder by Death, Strangelove, Holy grail, Life of Brian, Young Frankenstein.jodathalas wrote:I would go with Montey Pythons Holy Grail, Austin Powers series, and Super Troopers. Or do we just do the more modern stuff? Kevin Smith films, Ghostbusters, Dead men don't wear Plaid, The Man with two brains, The Mask, The Addams Family, American pie, Scary Movie.
And tht's just off the top of my head. There are far too many good Comedy films to ever have a favourite. Well in my case anyway.

Just about any Monty Python movie, any Mel Brooks movie, Ferris Bulers Day Off, Airplane!, and Top-Secret! (Which is, by the way, the best Val Kilmer movie ever.)

Blazing Saddles and Silence of the Lambs.
Seriously, Blazing Saddles is the best damn comedy ever made. There are a lot of great ones, but to pick one, well....there you have it.
And not so seriously, my Buffalo Bill impersonation has gotten a lot of mileage over the years.

Oh Rob, I love your oldies list. Operation Petticoat is one of my all time favorites! And you're right. There are WAY to many comedies to name.
Addition to your modern list: Hudson Hawk.

'Some Like It Hot' and 'What's Up Doc?' are amazing classic comedies.
Peter Sellers in A Shot In The Dark or Murder By Death fits in the golden age of color.
For more modern 'throwaway' comedies, I love MST3K: the Movie and 'Roxanne' with Steve Martin, which will always be one of my favorite movies.
However, the Lagmonster Award for Best Comedy You Never Heard Of goes to 'Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human'.
