Silent Storm is an awesome game if you have a dual core processor - then the AI turns go quite a bit faster.

Battlefield 2 - While the gameplay itself is fine, and the general atmosphere of the game is solid, BF2 suffers from an utterly RETARDED player community. Remember that "Worst Types of Gaming Assholes" topic in the OT forum? 98% of the assholes listed in that thread you will encounter in BF2 no questions asked. Only play this game if you find a reliable clan or a server with admins who play regularly.

2/5
If anyone is interested in BF2 without the retards:

21st Century Warfare

Tournament that used to run on Desert Combat for BF1942, but switched to their own mod of BF2.
The mod adds a bit more realism, but don't expect it to be OFP or ArmA, just slightly more realistic than BF2 is right now. Other mod additions are numerous vehicle additions like the A-10, Avenger, SU-25 and others (Thanks to many other mod teams, especially the USI mod), new sounds, the EU weapons from Euro Forces (thanks to EA for letting us use them) and some big gameplay changes, like the removal of the squad leader spawn point.
Main attraction is that it's organised BF2 play though. You'll be assigned to a squad and each squad will have an objective and assets assigned to it for the round.
Each division fights one 12 hour battle a week (2 coalition and 2 opposition divisions, so 2 battles a week), each on different maps (maps being from a pool of both vanilla and custom maps, ranging from infantry only, to full on tank battles.). Campaigns normally last for 10-12 weeks with 4-8 weeks between campaigns.

Star Trek Legacy: Crap times 99. The horrible game controls make this one unplayable. 0%

C & C 3 : A typical C&C RTS - nothing special. 78%

Two Worlds: Wannabe Oblivion clone. It is very easy to get very powerfull in this game - and the box art tries to get some big tits bonus points. 70%

Do you mean you play BF2 for 12 straight hours? I don't think I have that kind of stamina.

Guardian Heroes: Really Awesome beat'em'up for the Saturn. Lots of branches lots of different possibly story lines, really cool magic attacks. So I died alot even on easy burt they gave you 99 lifes so that was alright really.

Advance Guardian Heroes:Is complete and utter trash. The three possible characters are bland and boring. The story line really makes no sense. It doesn't work with just two buttons and its hard as hell to play. And everytime you die instead of coming back to life in the first one, you getr this dickhead offering to make you invincible. So its either Game Over, or its anothr 6 minutes of ass kickery and then Game OVer. Bollocks it is.

When my son first got Halo, I played it quite a bit, and thought it was a cool game. However, I find that I have absolutely zero interest in playing it again, after having beaten it once.

The only games I keep coming back to are the Total War games on the PC. I just can't get into console games except as an occasional fleeting diversion.

After all these years, I still come back to Heroes of Might and Magic 3. I still recommend it to friends as well, for a good game nearly anyone can play and enjoy.

Guardian Heroes. The fun, the characters, branching storyline, and being kickass enough in the game to never lose a life on Hard.

GBA Guardian Heroes. Take out all that is good, and make it sit in the sun a while.

TIE Fighter: A game where as a college youth would spend waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many hours to beat one last mission for the Emperor.

Rogue Squadron 3. Take what was okay of the last one, gut it, and add pointless ground missions with bad collision detection.

Fallou 1&2: Any game where you get titles for being the heroic porno god of the Waste is awesome in my book. Especially after finding King Arthur.

Call me crazy but I still love the flagship lines from old Sierra On-line, King's Quest, Space Quest, etc. Even though I've beaten them and know the solutions to all the puzzles, something just makes me like to go through the stories again. Especially the Gabriel Knight series.

Also the Wing Commander series (and spinoffs) still are loads of fun.

No, the whole battle lasts 12 hours (1200 - 0000 EST / 1700-0500 GMT) and you sign up for whatever hours you want to attend. Sides are switched every 3 hours to make sure that any bias in the map design is negated.

That said, there are some people that do the whole 12 hours every now and then.

While I agree that AGH is nowhere near as good as the original, I oddly found myself liking it a lot more the second time I played through it.

There seems to be be a ridiculous number of 'bosses' in quick sucession. I can get as far as fighting Evil Ginjiro but I can't beat him when he's 'good.' Maybe I just suck. I just wish the memory on my Saturn actually worked. So I could get all the characters to stay in the VS mode menu. Nothing is as cool as playing one of those giant robot god things.
