Nice big DWS29 Finale Spoiler. (spoilers, duh)

Post by Dartzap »

BBC Press Office

Earth has been conquered and the Master rules supreme, with the Doctor a helpless prisoner, in the final episode of Russell T Davies's Doctor Who.The entire human race has been reduced to slavery, as the mighty warships of a new Time Lord Empire rise from the ashes. Only Martha Jones can save the world...

David Tennant plays the Doctor and Freema Agyeman plays his companion, Martha Jones. John Barrowman and John Simm guest star.
This probably is either very true, or very much the beeb playing us for fools via their press office.

I personally think the idea is a good 'un, if it's well done it could be brilliant.

How many Europeans on this board actually watch it live on the Beeb? I know Bounty and his fellow Belgians can. Do you get it on cable or are you a dirty pirate

"Know this time Lord...you are not alone"

You know, saying "Know this, THE MASTER IS STILL ALIVE AND GOING TO ENSLAVE EARTH AND KICK OFF A WHOLE EVIL TIMELORD EMPIRE!" probably would have been more useful.

We get the Beeb here in The Netherlands. I've kind of fallen behind now that they're showing it on Saturdays instead of Sundays, but I'll be all set and ready for this one when it airs...

I, for one, welcome our new Time Lord masters...

This, if true, could be very cool.

I don't know ... with the Time Lord gone, it seems all sorts of drop kicks have gained time travel tech, lots more errors in time seem to get by and looking on the big scale ... things seem to be in worse shape.

So let's see ... one pretty shite race who seems to cause most of the problem vs. The Time Lords who can fix the Universe.

If this is true, it could be interesting if done right.

BTW wasn't that life on mars actor rumoured to play the Master? Because after seeing life on mars I am just find it hard to imagine him playing a villain.

I dunno. He's done OK in a lunatic sort of way in the last few minutes of Utopia.

Wait, do they just mean that this is the final episode of this season of Doctor Who, or is this RTD's last year? I thought he planned to stay for at least one more season.

He wrote at least one episode season 4, I saw his name on the script for episode X.

Warning, the following quote is from a website known for fairly reliable spoileroos, so DO NOT LOOK if your currently in the happy land Spoilerfreetania. First spotted by some bastards over at OG, so no credit for find the things is mine.

http://spoiledrot.blogspot.com/

Doctor Who-Series 3 Episode 12: The Sound Of Drums

There shall be spoilers. Oh yes. Some.

Sound Of Drums: out of ten I'd give it a nine. Out of five I'd give it 4.862. The reason it doesn't get 10 or 5 (or A+) is because of, what is affectionally known as, 'fanwank'. Not that I'm against a bit of wankage now and again. Still, Doctor Who fans'll love it (maybe with the possible exception of TVM lovers). Kids will love it. I loved it.

DT = Excellent. Angry, dark and, dare I say it, cruel
Simm = Scene stealer. Hilarious, menacing, manic THE MASTER!!!!!!
Freema= Absolutely excellent. She really turns in a stellar performance, especially in her reactions to the Doctor, Galifrey et al). About 30 times better than Billie. (sorry Billie)
JB= Great as always. We're going to find out something shocking. There are hints (read below)

(Get on with it! -Ed)

Ok. You've been warned (haven't you?)

-Rememeber the Sea Devils? The Clangers. Well, the Master's at it again with the Teletubbies. Funny scene (and the look of utter incredulity and contempt on Simms face. "Tinky Winky!")

- The Jones family: taking away. Who's that in the back of the van also being driven off? Why! it's Sarah Jane Smith! (wankage #1)

- Mrs Saxon is very proud of her husband. Oh yes. Anthony Ainley would turn in his grave!

- Brigadear Leibridge Stewart. In name only. Oh, and he's dead.(wankage 2)

- Time vortex manipulator. Back to the future. The Doctors very angry. He basically loses both his friends with a single comment.

- Captain Scarlett

- All that tapping. Everyone. Terrifying. The sound of drums indeed. Turn off your fucking telephone!!

- "When I was a child" . "About eight years old" "Like a brother to me"

- Jack remembers something the same time the Doctor does. They exchange a look. I felt a shiver go through me then. Jack!!

- Galifrey. CGI. A very familiar face. Absolutely well done. Remember how they used to do CGI faces and people back in the old days? Well the Beeb have just blown that out of the fucking water!

- Saxon: "Would you like a jellybaby?".

- The Valiant is a bowlderised tardis. Bits of the Doctors tardis (which doesn't work anymore)

- The Toclafane ? No idea yet. But the Galifrey flashback gives you a hint.

- The Doctor suffers. He gets old. Very old. All Mark Gatiss' fault.

- The Master and his regenerations. "There was always a way, Doctor. You know that better than anyone".

Thats all for the moment. I'm going to watch it again and I'll add in more details later.

Atb,
Prof Qui

I reckon it might relate to The Master's hypnotic powers. :)
