I've only got 80 points of them because they have no game effect other than a mild delay, and even for that you have to accurately guess who is going to attack you in advance. They're removable by the standard last-resort mine clearing strategy; you run your ships into them and they react violently with the FTL drives, dispersing the anomaly in the process. But it makes no real difference, because as soon as you know they're there you can plot a course to avoid them.I can live with actual, physical mines that freak up FTL travel and which can be removed. But not permanent planet-sized anomalies for basially free.
EDIT: Oh, and I'd consider spending more points on them, if they did something actually useful, like reliably destroying incoming ships. I assumed that would be unreasonable though.
