It's not really death itself I fear...it's more of letting go of life. I want to be around to see mankind's eventual expansion into space (hopefully), to see what technologies would have been created that would seem like magic to us, to see how the new generations cope with life's old problems within a new environment....

Another thing I fear is the PROCESS of death itself, most especially if it's a violent death. If I die in my sleep in old age, I have nothing whatsoever to fear of death. If it's just eternal sleep, well, I like my sleep. If it's afterlife, than it should be interesting wouldn't it?

I'm a believer of space / time equilancy and see my entire life as a permenant, pretty damn complex 4D object; past, present and future all as one.

My consious is as real as a flip-book animation, an illusion, but a good one. The only question, who's watching it?

The neat thing about space = time is that you can measure your age in metres. Not too long ago, my age surpassed my height at 2m. Having a short or long lifespan is the literal truth.

Everything I've done, everything I am is eternal. When my life ends, I imagine the movie starts over, or maybe the reels get switched and I'll be watching one of you next. (So try to make it an interesting viewing, more sex, less violence.)

Given a shot at immortality, I'd take it. If I have to wait uncounted billions of years after the Earth is gone for a new planet to form under feet, fine.

Of course, I believe that, if and when I die, I'll be seeing a nice golden mansion amid fluffy clouds. :D

Irrational faith! Yes!
