Dawkins and Krauss: Should Science Speak to Faith?

Post by sketerpot »

An abbreviated version of this article appeared in the most recent issue of Scientific American. It's a discussion on the friction between faith and science, between Lawrence Krauss and Richard Dawkins. It's a good read, but too long to quote here, so click the linky.

What's particularly hilarious about this debate is that Scientific American didn't even try to appear "fair and balanced"; they did their usual elitist thing and got eminent authorities and ignored the kooks. And the upshot of all this is that we have a discussion on science and faith between two atheists who differ mainly in how much provocation they need to attack faith.

It's funny that CNN had a discussion on atheism but did the opposite by inviting three kooks on the panel with the host.

That was a great discussion to read.

I get more and more impressed with Dawkin's way of expressing his point of view, and his willingness to dive in and expose religion for what it is with the same vigor that I personally have learned and enjoy.
