DSL problems

Post by Phantasee »

I posted this in testing because it didn't seem to warrant a question here, but now the connection completely died on me, and it's not working very well anymore.
<snip jokes>

my DSL modem is getting hot, so I took an ice cube and put a thin layer of water on top of it. [It didn't help.]

My modem keeps disconnecting, with Windows telling me a LAN cable is unplugged, but everything is secure. Could it be that the modem is overheating or something? It doesn't go dead, completely, the power stays on, but Something Is Up. The only light that stays on is Power and Status blinks differently.

It's a 3 year old D-Link DSL 300G ADSL Modem.

You might need to see if it's clogged up with dust. It might have also totally failed, too.

Ah, bummer. I'll try and blow out the dust, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to call Telus and tell them to get their bitch asses down here to replace it (I hate them so much right now :evil:).
