I've never really wanted to recommend a band before, and I found these guys quite by mistake, honestly (I was actually looking for covers of Bon Jovi's Bed of Roses, so that I could purge from my memory his abortion of an unplugged version of the same) and I found these guys who had a song called Bed Of Roses...so I decided to listen and was immediately enraptured. I was transported back in time, almost, back to when I was, oh, I don't know, 16 or 17; a time when I could just jump into my old Datsun, roll down the windows on a cool, late autumn night, crank up the Counting Crows and just drive to nowhere in particular. (Which I often did!) So, in a few emails back and forth, I found that the guys in this band do not leave the Metro New York Area, but that one member's sister just moved to Austin so...who knows, maybe they'll come down to San Antonio (SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST, BABY!)

At any rate, I really want to encourage all who read this thread to head over to their Website and download and listen to at least "Bed of Roses" and "Perfect Time Of Year" and post what you think back here. Maybe it'll help me calibrate my "Good music-o-meter"

Personally, like I said, I was enraptured and forced into daydream land, and that's happened only very rarely. I hear influences of Counting Crows, Alan Parson's Project, Zep, a little Green Day and heavy Dave Matthews. Two thumbs up from me. WAY up.

Not really my cup of Tea, Earl Grey, hot.
It sounds an AWFUL lot like Counting Crows to me... too much in fact. I get a Third Eye Blind feel from it as well. Didn't get any of the Zeppelin or Green Day you were pickin' up.
Not bad, but I think I would just hit Telegraph and pick up CCs if I was feeling nostalgic.

What I certainly didn't like was the Funkcrapstic cover of That's Life.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

No? I thought "That's life" had some interesting flavors to it. And as for Green day, I got that from the Not That Far, and it's more of the "Time of your life" Green day as opposed to the "Dookie" Green Day. And Zep comes from Someday. And you know, now that I think about it, you're spot on about Third Eye Blind! I enjoyed them immensely, though.

I think...perhaps the time might be right for more "Counting Crows-esque" entries into the music industry. There's just too many Linkin Park/Creed clones out there nowadays. What ever happened to good pop rock? *sigh*

Not the most awesome music ever, but Im not going to ask for my 5 minutes of life back either. Where are you getting Dave Matthews and Zeppelin from?
"Siege warfare, French for spawn camp" WTYP podcast

It's so bad it wraps back around to awesome then back to bad again, then back to halfway between awesome and bad. Like if ed wood directed a godzilla movie - Duckie

Well the dave matthews you can find dispersed throughout, in my opinion. Vocal stylings, mostly, but Zep in the song "Someday" If you didn't give it a listen, you'll hear the influence, I think.
