Gotta go with the Mark II
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

I like the laptop. Looks hard to make yet seems simple.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I like the Chevy but that's because I like cars . Also because it looks like it's your best yet, as in it doesn't look like you had shaky hands while doing the icing.
*keep in mind I grew up watching my mother make cakes for the 7 of us as we grew up, plus some, she did wedding cakes, birthday cakes, easter cakes, christmas cakes, etc... She also did cakes for everyone who would ask including friends and extended family.. she even did cakes for some co-workers at one point. So I'm used to seeing professional jobs*
But you are good at it. Have you considered doing it as a career? Your cakes are very different than the norm and I'm sure you'd have lots of requests from customers.

Everyone keeps telling me that. I'd have to take formal classes to qualify for a licsense I think first. How much do you think I could actually make off of my cakes if I tried to sell them. How much do you think they'd be worth each?Mrs Kendall wrote:I like the Chevy but that's because I like cars . I dunno, my mom never needed a license, but then again she wasn't making cakes of certain designs that could be copywrited (if that's even a concern)Isolder74 wrote:Everyone keeps telling me that. You could just sell them to your friends and family to start off and see if you like it enough to make that your job/second job.
I'd say as a minimum you could charge 20 bucks, and as a maximum... say.. $50? Depending on how long it takes and how difficult the design.
Just a suggestion.

So 40 -50 for cakes like the Destroyer and the Guggenheim and 20 - 30 for the Falcon, the Chevy, and the Death Star.

Than yeah that makes sense. In light of this news, I'd say if it takes you more than 7 hours you should be paid more than 50 bucks. That's a lot of time working on something.
Anyway, figure out what the cost of the ingredients and molds are for a specific cake and then figure out how much you would want to be paid for your time.
I really think you could do this and have a nice side job to generate extra cash!
