That part was great, but you could see the Decepticon logo on him before then. :)
Imperial Overlord wrote:I'm with Vympel on this. Also in the movie the Autobots jump Devastator three on one and kick the shit out of him, but once Megatron shows up they're pretty damn scared of him. He's out of their weight class and they know it. Prime is Megatron's equal and when Bonecrusher pushed his luck Prime tore him apart.

As for Blackout, yeah he did go down to easy from human weapons, even in Starscream "helped". It would make more sense if he was a "glass cannon" a heavily armed but not that well armoured Decepticon.
Maybe, but I don't know about that. Out of universe, the whole "Blackout gets taken down by the humans" think was so that the human characters were totally useless and because it was the vengeance angle. It was clear that the director wanted the humans to be as bigger or bigger players than the Transformers and it would have been shitty from that angle for Blackout to have completely stomped them in Qatar and then completely shrug off their weapons again, and to be killed by an Autobot.

However, in universe, it still doesn't make alot of sense. I mean, Blackout took worse than a grenade launchers repeatedly in the Qatar battle without being phased. And there was no reason, even if he didn't use his super omni blast, that he couldn't have just shot straight at Optimus, rather than try to shank him.

I seriously think it was writer's fiat though. I mean, Barricade got whipped by Bumblebee, Bonecrusher got completely schooled by Optimus, Devestator got dog piled by the Autobots and soldiers then killed by Bumblebee, Starscream decided to take a smoke break halfway through the battle and didn't bother to fight, and Megatron was kind of reserved for a Prime/Sam fight. They needed to give the human characters a win in there.

Really, the Decepticons probably should have won that last fight, since in terms of "weight class", they had Megatron, Starscream, and Devestator, all of which were big hitters, while the Autobots had Optimus and Ironhide (to a more limited extent) as their hitters. Not to mention that the Decepticons didn't care at all about collateral damage while the Autobots had to limit their firepower to avoid killing anyone. In fact, had Starscream not decided to be the drunk uncle for some reason and decided that he was going to clock out early, it would have very likely screwed over the Autobots, since there was very little any of them could have done to really stop him, particularly if Megatron was still up (and by that time he was).

Weren't those soldiers armed with some kind of heated sabot grenades? I think it was stated that they were the only human weapons that were effective.

StarScream did not "clock out", he was merely picking his time and his targets....

It's part of the score composed for the film by Steve Jablonsky, which doesn't have an official release.

Yeah they made some references to something like that, but it doesn’t even begin to make since to have incendiary sabot ammo fired out of 75m/s grenade launchers.

Clearly other weapons are effective anyway, as missiles launched from F-22s damaged Megaton. If a grenade is capable of inflicting any kind of damage, then you can be rather certain that a tank shell or anti tank missile would too. It just doesn’t seem to have been possible to mobilize that kind of response.

I certainly hope it gets released at some point, I thought the orchestral soundtrack was decent in the few scenes it was prominent, especially the scene with the arrival of the Autobots.

Agreed. I was merely searching for the least offensive explanation possible, in universe. Given the kind of firepower Scorponak soaked up with, no 40mm grenade launcher is likely to do much damage to a full sized Transformer like Blackout.

Or the sequel will be an excellent chance to use the line, "Megatron! My leader! We are alive again!"

That being said, I thought the movie was great. My goods and bads seem to echo most other peoples; great effects, great CGI, wild action (I thought the shakey camera was to add to the chaotic feel), the funny bits were funny, but with poor editing/transitions in the second act, little robo character development, and a totally useless hacker subplot (though I loved the scene in the holding cell. "I ate the whole plate. The whole plate!). As for ugly, the whole 'Maximum Overdrive' magically granting life to general machines thing was pretty low end, as was making Jazz a hip-hopper. I could only be more glad he got ripped in half if he wasn't so steadfastly loyal to Bumblebee. 'What's crackalating little bitches' indeed.

Here's the choir movement with the Decepticon motif: http://www.bk.com/transformers/Audio/de ... _theme.mp3. A truncated 20 second demo of the Autobots arrival theme can also be found if you Google deeper and harder. I can't seem to find the link again,

I was kinda turned on by the transformation sequences. Is there anything wrong with that. :?

Oh yeah! Who wants to bet the Starscream mold gets painted black? They've already released pictures of a G1-Starscream accurate color scheme with the mold, as well as a blue Thundercracker version.

Just saw it today. My reaction is exactly on par with this general outlook. I really liked this movie, so what if it wasn't perfect? It was an awesome summer action movie and that's damn well what I came to see.

1. As noted above, Hugo Weaving not sounding like Hugo Weaving was awesome. This of course, goes hand in hand with the fact that Weaving did a kick ass job voicing Megatron in general.

2. The fact that they got Peter Cullen to voice Prime was awesome.

3. The transformation sequences were always entertaining.

4. I personally thought Starscream had the movie's most badass moments. Granted they were the most absurd as well, but i'll be damned if that F-22 chase didn't have me on the edge of my seat.

5. Thus far my biggest complaint with the movie is the oh-so-annoying zomg leet hax subplot. It was just annoying, that's it. Yet again they cart out the "US military pwned by single computer virus haha!" Nevermind how utterly retarded it is.

6. The jokes were, as stated above, excellent. They really did help to make the movie.

That being said? I want a TF2, and damnet, it better have fucking Unicron.
Best care anywhere.

You can't go from a handful of Autobots and Decepticons (the latter of which most of whom died) and go immediately to Unicron in the next movie. That's for the third movie.

Just saw it.
First half is Gold. I'll admit, I really wouldn't have expected the comedic bits to be funny or the "Teen angst" parts to be done without my cringing, but they were (amazingly enough).
The last third of the movie, after the Decepticon "Roll call" (which was awesome) was weaker. Shaky cam and close-ups do not good giant robot action sequences make. Odd that Bay can't film a good action sequence. Sorry, but the action sequences of the original movie were better than the finale(S) of this one, especially the Megatron/Optimus fight (Though the speech was awesome, the voice actors are as great as ever).

I hate being unoriginal, but there's prior precedent at least :P.

I figured the hack was partly due to Frenzy having direct access to the mainframe, rather than trying from an outside site. After that, better knowledge of computers let him continue.

Even then, they still detected him, and were working to deal with him.

You know, after watching JLU's "Alive" and "Destroyer" again today I think those Timmverse creative people could very well come up with a city busting Transformers movie with zero contrived situations, great character drama and humour ,and good mix of establishing shots and close-ups during battle scenes.

Just saw the movie yesterday. It wasn't the best movie ever, but I thought it was entertaining. I agree that it was basically a light-hearted popcorn action comedy, that's fun and doesn't ask you to think very hard about it. I noticed a lot of flaws in the story logic, but I realized what the movie was aiming for and wasn't really bothered by it.

What I think was the movie's biggest flaw was the middle part, before the Autobots were able to get those glasses. I thought the scene where they were trying to hide from Sam's parents dragged on too long. Sector 7 was another unnecessary addition. The whole time I was just waiting for the story to move on.

All the military aircraft that was in the movie was awesome. Megan Fox was hot as hell. When the movie comes out on DVD I'll have to check out the final battle again. Having Starscream standing in the background watching, and subtly shoot Megatron in the back is cool as hell.

Is there any evidence to support that such actions did occur or is it mere speculation? I keep reading of this supposed back stab yet I have watched the movie several times at the theater and I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary.

It fits his character given his behavior in Ghosts of Yesterday and if the F-22s that hit megatron are two pairs instead of the same two planes making two runs then the numbers match up (there were 3 F-22s left out of the group Starscream hit).

I really hope that once in the next two movies, they copy the sequence from the animated movie where Prime goes on his last "roll out". The slow motion transform at the start always puts shivers up my spine 8)

Saw it for a second time today, this time with one of my aunts who knows nothing of the Transformers. She absolutely loved it, so that was a relief. I also have changed my mind; Hugo Weaving's Megatron has grown on me.
