This one teacher I had in elementry school would just bitch and yell. I missed one of my homework and after class she was bitching at me saying how she was going to send me back to elementary school which I actually believed she could do. Another time in class she asked me for my phone number and I said I didn't know. We had just gotten the number changed a couple days ago so I didn't have it memorised yet. She went on to bitching at me about how a 5 year old knows his number and shit.

Another teacher that I had was this teacher that had a problem against me (I think she was racist against whites but that ain't certain) for no reason. I had just moved and started to go to this middle school. The second day there, I had to take a Vocabulary test that she had told me nothing about. Later on the year she was the only teacher to fail me forcing me to go to summer school (which I passed with the highest grade of at least 2 classes) citing that I didn't do non of my work. In actuallity she gave work for the whole week at Monday, I would finish it in 3 days instead of 5. She passed some guy saying that 'he tried' even though he did shit except not come to class and when he did come to class he would just talk.

Then in the eigth grade my math teacher accused me of being racist against blacks for no particular reason saying that I never do my work and shit like that. Funny how I had the highest grade in the class. He got pissed cause he was saying how we would have to be competing against people (in high school) with averages 90 something and when he came to my 90 number average I muttered that I have that.

One more teacher was in freshman year of high school where my second semester English teacher gave me a 65. She said 'I can't raise your grade, you don't participate enough'. Bull shit. The people that she would talk to with all period that sat close to her but didn't actually do much else got 10 point boosts and I often did volunteer but I was set in the back BY HER behind other people and she never picked me to participate. The semester before I had received a 90 something for English.

That's not all but I don't feel like typing about bitches of teachers that I had anymore.

My grade 9 math teacher wouldn't let us pass a test unless we answered the last question correctly, which was always writing out the Calvin and Hobbies lyric "Tigers are nimble and light on their toes, my respect for tigers continually grows" ... that was about 13 years ago and I still remember it...
That's my kind of teacher. :)

I've had two bad teachers.
First was my Highly Capable (gifted program) teacher. I was in 3rd grade at the time, and once a week, we were bused (bussed?) to another school for this class. No real gradual introduction to the class, no real structure, lame assignments...I dropped out of the program before a year went by. The best part about the class was the disassembly station, where we got to rip apart old appliances. She wanted us to 'make something else' out of the components, but as far as I know, no one ever did. I still remember having a hell of a time getting a vinyl turntable off its spindle.

The other one was a computer teacher I had in college just a couple semesters ago (I believe it was CIS 220 - Data Communications and Networks or something like that). Everything was straight from the book. She could rarely explain anything well, and often accepted outright incorrect answers from people in class. And from what I remember her telling us, she was a Boeing Engineer.

I had some pretty good teachers, but none had that 'changed my life' impression on me. My 3rd-grade teacher was a good one--I remember one project, where we had to build a tower out of 50 popsicle sticks & white glue, then support textbooks with 'em. Some teams didn't even manage one book. My tower design took all the science books in the class, and another 6 English books before it finally failed.
My pre-algebra teacher was pretty good, but then I missed the week of school we started on graphing and got a D that quarter. My trig teacher was great--he somehow managed to explain things really well. My 8th grade history teacher was also pretty good. I remember him mostly because of the kick-ass job I did on the Washington History packet (I think I got 111 points out of 100 possible, or something), and that he had us play Sim City for a week in the computer lab. My city was best, thanks to hours spent playing Sim City on the SNES and on my friends' Mac. Where he had to keep typing FUND to keep the other students playing, I had something like $80k in the bank when the week ended, the most population, least crime, and best fire coverage. :)
My pre-calc teacher in college kicked ass--he loved math, and made it show. I did great in that class thanks to his teaching.

I hope that last part was a joke.
No. I was a very tormented child in school one day i'd had enough and did a "waterboy" on a guy knocking him out the open window. The attempted murder but came when i tried to stamp on his fingers as he held on to the window ledge. I didn't get very far mainly due to the fact that teachers backed me.
I used to get a whole lot of shit at school too....I never dumped anyone out a third storey window though (The school was only 3 stories tall and the top floor windows were almost all closed all the time.....or....). I did on my last day (the reason why this was my last day) finally flip out completely at some little shit shouting abuse at me.....I was coming in later in the day because I didnt have a class first thing when this dipshit started shouting abuse at me....I flipped, threw my bag down and charged at him....he ran into the PE department into the changing rooms.....I followed hot on his heels and when he locked the door to the changing room (a standard house lock) I started to kick it down....after the hinges on the top of the door buckled I calmed down a bit and left him in there......

As far as the teacher thing goes, one of the worst was the head at my old school....he was very much a ruler up his ass dickhead....he was of the opinion that everyone should be wonderful little drones and if they werent then they were not real people and not worthy of any consideration at all.
After getting shit thrown at me, abuse shouted at me by a load of folk and a lot of other stuff his exact words were....
"Dont you think you bring it on yourself?"
Charming chap, hope he gets some kind of cancer of the rectum.....

Modern teachers have been stripped of most of their authority (in public American schools). When I was a young'n, teachers and deans still spanked students, and teachers could fail students who were disruptive. My dad suffered an anurism several years ago, while he was a middle school teacher. He was not allowed to fail anyone, regardless of their performance or lack thereof. Nor could he discipline a student for being disruptive. You couldn't pay me enough to be a teacher today.

Back when I first started elementry, I had this one teacher that just messed me up.

I don't remember that much (to remember anything, I had to ask my parents about it), but when I was first learning to write, I was favoring my left hand. Obviously my teacher couldn't take that laying down, so my teacher drilled in to me the idea that the only "real" way to write was with the right hand. I was not allowed to write with my left. It eventually turned into a habit.

Now, over 10 years later, I still use my right hand even though it doesn't feel natural and my writing is crap. The only reason I still use my right hand is because writing with my left hand feels even more unatural.

To go slightly off topic a friend of mine had a teacher who was an absolute nervous wreck, and was probably paranoid from what I was told. One of his more diabolical torture (of the teacher) stories was that the class was moved to the first floor from the fourth floor. And a kid suddenly shouted out in the middle of class "I can't take it anymore!" and jumped out the window. When the teacher ran out screaming his head off having a break down the Kid climbed right back in and sat back down.
Zaia do you have any horror stories of kids?

During my short visit to Taiwan, I went to class with a few of my old friends. Their English teacher had trouble spelling "Crocodile" If memory serves me correctly, she spelled it "crocadile"
Now you know why all those people from other countries usually speak bad English.

My 4th grade teacher gave me detentions if i didnt understand something. She made me stand out in the hall when i insisted that the winter olympic sport "curling" existed. She never heard of it, so she called me stupid. My kindergarten teachers thought i had ADD, and continued to believe so even after i had been professionally tested for ADD. My history teacher used to make us write FOUR FUCKING CHAPTERS OF THE BIBLE if we talked in class. FOUR! Most of the teachers had problems.

Gladly I have few to if any of bad teachers...more because well...aside from some wacky profs, nothing much.

Though I had a few that were outright perverts and would give girls who wore short skirts higher grades...but nothing that they did against me persay.

I was lucky to have several great teachers throughout my school years.

Mrs. Sacca: My freshman english and Junior Honors english teacher. Had a slight tendency towards favoritism, but I think that was mostly because she got so many students who didn't give a shit about high school and she couldn't get rid of them so she loved it when you showed an interest. Started a student/community volunteer reading program she named after me because she was so moved by the way I read so many books during school, and would talk to her during lunch about them. She said she couldn't keep up with me, and it gave her the idea for the program. She was one person who encouraged me to try writing.

Ralph Young: High School Math teacher/speech team coach/theater director: Ralph was just a all around cool guy. Always willing to offer advice, and really cared about teaching.

The only really bad one I can think of was Mr. Vandevender the band director when I was a Junior and Senior. I had played trumpet/baritone in Middle school in Oregon, and so was excited when I came here, only to discover the middle school band consisted of about 7 kids, and the HS wasn't much better. I couldn't take band my junior year, but tried to get time out of the class I was taking (honors English)whenever we were simply using the library or working on projecst to go practice with them. Unfortunatly, by then the band had become a dumping ground for students who didn't give a shit anymore, and most couldn't even play an instrument. When I took band my senior year, Vandevender was in charge of both it, and the choir and didn't care about either of them. We we're playing kiddy stuff that was years below what I was used to playing. :(

Belle Chasse Middle School is one FUCKED-UP School. My Middle School History teacher Mrs Boitnott (I don't care much for anonymity considering how the bitch and the school disciplinarian double-teamed me, which will be explained presently. Besides, I'm safely out of their reach so I WILL name names!!) would have this policy of putting any unlucky brat who didn't do his/her homework for ANY REASON in detention. This "Detention" wasn't the usual hour after school. It was more like In-School Suspension (the kind where you're in the dungeon all day and in theory you get your school assignments, go to lunch at the usual hour, etc.) Correction: it was WORSE than ISS. No lunch breaks, NO FUCKING BATHROOM BREAKS (Fuck you very much Mr. Williamson!!!), and you DON'T get your assignments so you get a nice fat zero for that day in the rest of your classes, contributing to bad grades. Anyway back to it: If I didn't get my homework in, she'd send me to Mr. Will's dungeon. Then the next day when she saw that I didn't have my homework again (Gee I wonder WHY, bitch!!! She had the "No students give other students homework assignments if they miss class" rule going, so no out that way) it was back to the Clink for me. That school was set up so that *1* little mistake in conduct at the beginning of the school year can very easily translate to 24 F grades!!! (6 subjects, 4 quarters, I think I got that math good!) And they make it extremely difficult to climb back out of that hole, so one little slipup taken the wrong way, and you're fucked 24 ways to Summer School! Funny that it got ten times worse when I said I was gay... As I said, I'm safely out of their reach. That's why I can say that I wanted something truly terrible to happen to that school while I was there. As of now, I'm okay with that hellhole because I'm sure all the fucktards are gone...

Why use a ruler? My bitchslap-backhand-of doom will handle this situation nicely.

There were a lot of teachers that just made me shitfaced. I have no problem with a teacher. It's the individual. You have good ones, bad ones, and naughty ones (Zaia, bad girl). Personally if you don't like a teacher from day one just because they're a teacher your fucking yourself over for no reason. So get used to it, because you'll continue to do it for the rest of your life. Ass.

In sixth grade(79-80), there was a question in a book wether or not you thought it was POSSIBLE for people to be living on the moon by the year 2000. I said yes, it would be POSSIBLE for people to live on the moon by 2000. Mrs. Osbourne, the teacher, freaked right the fuck out on that one. There's no air up there, was her argument. How did the astronauts get air? was my argument. She mocked my obvious stupidity and such, but I didn't cry, not after Cunticus Horribilus of the 4th grade.

Our band director chose a girlfriend out of every other junior class. Everyone knew it, but kind of played stupid about it. Until he got busted. Then all the feigned shock and outrage you imagine. Nobody was shocked, except maybe at the fact that he got caught. Band turned to shit after that,BTW.

I absolutely detested my higher english teacher.
He was an awful opinionated bigot. Since I had long hair I was scum, he often shouted at me without reason and failed all my classwork (fortunately for higher all coursework is externally examined and I overall achieved a B).
All in all, I wish upon him all the ills I can currently concieve of....
