"Crazy 4 Cult" art exhibit

Post by Lord Poe »

Rosie and I went to the "Crazy 4 Cult" art exhibit last night, on Melrose in Hollywood. Local artists reinterpret their favorite cult movies.

I doubt that show makes much of a splash in the snobbier art world circles, and it would more than likely utterly fail in New York.

The Edward Scissorhands, the funeral group, and the second Donnie Darko paintings are my favorites...wonderfull stuff.

Most of those are pretty damn fine, if not my preferred style. Looks really cool. Wish more galleries did stuff like this.
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

I was just reminded of Pink Flamingos. Oy.

Still, the art style is very reminiscient of what it's based off of, especially Jay and Silent Bob.

I'm amused by The Professional and the Shawn of the Dead ones. Excellent find, Poe.
