My massive library of music and video is working trouble-free, even being shared by WMP11 to my 360. I believe the DRM stuff was the HDMI-standard 'absolutely will not display pirated material', though, so it won't have any effect on the sort of media I use.

PS I just said nothing useful. :)

Unless you plan on watching protected WMVs or high definition discs (HDDVD, Bluray) you'll never encounter it, with a caveat of WMP's video renderer which does utilise some parts of the protected pipeline. If you use another player (and there are a number of superior alternatives out there unless you require the DRM, library or streaming capabilities of WMP) it isn't touched at all.

In other words, a non-issue.

I've hardly noticed any more DRM when using Vista than I've experienced using XP. Which is to say virtually none whatsoever.

I can't play downloaded tv through Windows Media Center... but I don't think that's a DRM issue

The DRM is strictly for protected HD content, isn't it? How many people even use protected HD content? It's not as if everybody is watching Blu-Ray all the time.
